“Dark Wave,” hosted by Slicing Up Eyeballs’ Matt Sebastian, explores the darker side of classic ’80s alternative, including vintage goth, post-punk and industrial. The show airs at 10 p.m. to 1 a.m. Eastern every Sunday on Sirius XM’s 1st Wave (Channel 33).

The most recent two episodes are available to subscribers to stream via the Sirius XM app.

Got a request? Requests will be considered for future episodes, but there’s no guarantee they’ll be played. They must fit the show’s format and fall generally within the 1st Wave era. And not be something the host really dislikes. If there’s something you’d like to hear, drop it in the comments below.

Thank you America , for playing my request of Union Carbide live , some classic industrial noise by the first industrial super group Revolting Cocks .

  5. Great show Matt! Would you play Edge Of No Control by Meat Beat Manifesto? Thanks, keep up the good work!

  6. Thanks for playing my Adam and the Ants request, Matt! I enjoyed hearing two future requests I had, which was anything by The Durutti Column and “Being Boiled.” The Camoflauge cover was new to me. One of the things I always enjoy about your show is discovering new gems like this. I’d like to follow off that, and request the B-side of the original Human League “Being Boiled” single, “Circus of Death” (the Fast Version with the spoken-word intro, although the album version works as well).

  7. Great June gloom DW!

Unknown Pleasures was released 47 years(!) ago today. Any track of your choosing off of that album would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

  8. Big fan of Dark Wave, been staying up to listen every Sunday!! I’d love to request East West by Armageddon Dildos for a future show :-)

  9. Excellent show this week as always. I have been listening for less than a year and I’m not sure if you have ever played anything from ex-Bad Seed Rowland S. Howard? In particular, I think your listeners might enjoy the track “The Golden Age of Bloodshed” from his Pop Crimes album.

  10. Matt,I’m all over the World Cup but I never miss Dark Wave, the best scoring in the World Cup of Dark Wave!Thanx for the play and again much appreciated sets of the finer tunes. Here is my kickoff contribution,so All The Best As Always!
    NITZER EBB-My Heart

  11. Good afternoon Matt! A huge thank you for playing my Stranglers request — it totally made the tail end of my birthday extra special!!!! Loved the end of Hour 1 and all of hour 2 just slayed… the industrial set especially!! Anyway I could gush all day but…some possible suggestions for next time:
Echo & The Bunnymen – The Game
    Modern English – Someone’s Calling
    Japan – Quiet Life

Thanks for putting a smile on our collective faces! 。◕‿◕。

    • Happy belated birthday Tina! When “Golden Brown” came on my 13yo son goes “The Stranglers! This is a classic!” He’s not wrong!

    • Hi, it’s my birthday this Sunday for the Summer Solstice. If possible it play one of my favorite songs, “The Light,” by Love & Rockets to celebrate the Sun.

  12. Great show this week!

Refraining from any requests this week; I’ll give you a chance to catch up with backlog.

Best wishes to all reading this in the week ahead!

  13. Theatre of Hate – 63

  14. When the show begins with Wire and ends with NIN you know it’s been a great one. That industrial block to kick off hour 2 was so damn good. Nice call AntiMusick on the live RevCo cut, banger. Loved hearing Durutti Column, For Against and The Dark. And where did you find Shoc Corridor? That was a brand new one for me, loved it, and will need to check out more.

Request for a future communion: “Forced Laugh” by A Certain Ratio, produced by the legend Martin Hannett.

Have a great week Matt, cheers!

  15. Thanks for The Dark. Great Industrial block, Also The Trees, and the end of Hour 3. But I have to call it for Hour 1 this week. Too many great selections in that hour.

Thanks for the great music. Have a good week.

  16. Another bunch of slightly oddball requests for future shows:

    Martin Rev – Water
Hunting Lodge – This Is Truth
Portion Control – Under the Skin
    Thåström – Miss Huddinge -72
    Bourbonese qualk – Skin Deep

  17. It must be nearly 35 years since I last listened to Waking the Witch, or even the whole Hounds of Love album…quite a deep cut! Whoever requested it, I am grateful!
Since people are requesting Pop Will Eat Itself, I like “The Fuses Have Been Lit”. Also “The More It Changes” by Legendary Pink Dots.

  18. Song request:
    Rational by King Cobb Steelie

  19. Steven Litt

Love to hear DIIV soul net very shoe gaze

  20. The Clean – Point That Thing Somewhere Else (1981) Apple Music + Qobuz + Bandcamp

  21. Corey from Ohio

Great show! Some excellent requests, outstanding industrial segment, and closing with NIN was enough, but give me all the Depeche Mode. Especially B sides. On that note, Depeche Mode Sea of Sin (tonal mix)

  22. Hey Matt, haven’t checked in for a while but listening always. This was a great show! Highlights for me…. kicking the episode off with The Wire, The Sound , X, The Scientists (have been hoping to hear them), Durutti Column, and Shoc Corridor (nice surprise by an artist I’d never heard). Looking forward to the next episode!

  23. Ken Winland

    GREAT show! Thanks as ALWAYS!
