Bauhaus
“Dark Wave,” hosted by Slicing Up Eyeballs’ Matt Sebastian, explores the darker side of classic ’80s alternative, including vintage goth, post-punk and industrial. The show airs at 10 p.m. to 1 a.m. Eastern every Sunday on Sirius XM’s 1st Wave (Channel 33).
The most recent two episodes are available to subscribers to stream via the Sirius XM app.
Got a request? Requests will be considered for future episodes, but there’s no guarantee they’ll be played. They must fit the show’s format and fall generally within the 1st Wave era. And not be something the host really dislikes. If there’s something you’d like to hear, drop it in the comments below.

I love when you play Ministry… I was wondering maybe “Scare Crow” by them!!!
That shoegaze block! Also, the punk infused closing set list was great. And, really, any Concrete Blonde track is a welcome addition to any show.
Glad you mentioned finding stuff out in the wild, too; my own recent bailiwick has mostly been snagging dirt cheap movies and books at cartoonishly low prices at local thrift shops.
How about Husker Du’s “Land of the Free” for a future episode? A track that’s as old as I am, yet remains as topical now as it was upon release…
Best to all in the week ahead!
Hey Matt –
Welcome back….GREAT show last night & much appreciated for dropping my Numb request…you never disappoint!
Very Best,
Dave W.
Long Branch, NJ
Japan – Visions Of China
Clan of Xymox – No Words (1984 Demo Version)
Hey Matt, excellent show last night! I loved Numb, Lush and Swervedriver the most last night.
Can you play ‘Thorn Of Crowns’ live or from Ocean Rain?
Going to see them after your show on Monday night in Cleveland. So excited! My first time since seeing them back at the old Cleveland Music Hall in April ‘86, where in just four months after, I saw The Smiths.
Long-time listener of your show, and thank you for a splendid show, Matt.
My request for a future episode is for Felt – The Stagnant Pool
Seconded! Long live Lawrence
Another incredible instalment of Dark Wave. Have to give it to hour 3 again, especially with such a phenomenal closer by New Order. Looking forward to next week as per usual. Thanks Matt!
Hey Matt!
Loved the Shriekback and Severed Heads in Hour 1. Sooo good! And as per usual .. awesome Shoegaze block to follow… and then a stellar all-timer from Power Corruption & Lies to close! :)
Request circa 1981: Song Without An Ending // The The (from their early 4AD “daze”)
Cheers!
Great Show, Matt. I have a request for New Church by the Lords of the New Church. It’s for my dad who passed away at the age of 91 last week. I came home from being in the Army for 3 years back in 1991 and he was listening to mixtape I’d made before I went in with that song leading it off. Thanks
Sorry to hear about your dad…(✿ ♡‿♡)
Good day Matt!! Loved this program especially hours 2&3…so many good songs in there….shoegaze always awesome and Holiday in Cambodia is just such a classic!! In hour of June and summer I’d like to request another classic as my request:
Toans On Tail – Go!
Thanks again as always!!! 。◕‿◕。
Great show — last hour especially fun and the Severed Heads in the first hour was pretty epic. Not as epic perhaps as the Meat Beat at the end of last week’s “Love Parasite” episode. Yes, I am on my third listen of that one. Now obsessed with that ear worm “Abadan.” And “Caucasian Walk.”
Hour 3 for the win, especially the end of the set. Great choices.
Please play Gardiner/Numan’s “Stormtrooper in Drag” on a future episode please.
Have a great week.
Helluva show Matt! Blistering shoegaze set, thanks for kicking it off with my Chapterhouse request. It was really awesome seeing them live again after all these years. Merch guy said they are planning to head back out on the road in 2027 and play spots they missed this time. Thanks as well for playing the Crispy Ambulance and New Order requests, you are definitely catching up on the requests!
Here’s a request for your next covers show (yes please!) or when the mood strikes for a future communion: “Little Doll” by Spacemen 3, covering the Stooges.
Have a great week Matt, cheers!
Matt,Matt, tremendous 3 hours of the Dark Stuff & right before the WC2026,much appreciated & thanx for the play, good show.I got some shots on goal here with these so let’s hope they make it.All the Best as always.

Hi Matt – Thanks for playing my request for “The Kiss”. It was great to hear Severed Heads, Numb, DM Kaleid, Fun Boy Three (with Terry Hall), and of course all the industrial. Outstanding pick the previous week with MBM “Prime Audio Soup”. Big fan of their Actual Sounds & Voices album. Keep surprising us!
Good one!
Future song requests – Hong Kong Garden by Siouxsie and the Banshees, The Love Cats by The Cure, and Bela Lugosi’s Dead by Bauhaus?
Ohmigod!!! “Fantasy” by Lush! Am I the Susan who requested it? Because honestly I can’t remember. But thank you! My favorite track on an album of many great songs. The Swervedriver epic was very impressive too; I should learn more about them.
I can’t even think of a request to make today, but I’ll be back with something!
Guerilla Welfare – Easy Street (1991) Apple Music + Qobuz + Bandcamp
Seven Tears by The Creatures
Always appreciate the punk rock added in. Super show Matt!
