“Dark Wave,” hosted by Slicing Up Eyeballs’ Matt Sebastian, explores the darker side of classic ’80s alternative, including vintage goth, post-punk and industrial. The show airs at 10 p.m. to 1 a.m. Eastern every Sunday on Sirius XM’s 1st Wave (Channel 33).

The most recent two episodes are available to subscribers to stream via the Sirius XM app.

Got a request? Requests will be considered for future episodes, but there’s no guarantee they’ll be played. They must fit the show’s format and fall generally within the 1st Wave era. And not be something the host really dislikes. If there’s something you’d like to hear, drop it in the comments below.

  4. I just caught up listening to last week’s show, and I was glad to hear Curve (two weeks in a row, if I am correct), and so I was wondering if you could play Leftfield with Toni Halliday – Original.

  5. Great show this week, especially the punk block in hour two!

How about playing some Doves in an upcoming show? I’ll suggest “Black and White World” or “Prisoners”, but really, it’s dealers choice.

Hope everyone reading this is well, and enjoys the long holiday weekend ahead!

  6. Eddy jones

Hey Matt .. chef Eddy again… I’m with Ken up there but with “open up “ with Lydon and the outfield or FlAs “bloodsport”

  7. Eddy jones

I meant “left field “ dam autocorrect

  8. My Bloody Valentine – You Never Should

  9. Great to hear The Bog, that song always creeps me out

  10. I too had Music for the Masses on cassette way back when, one of the first I ever bought along with Technique by New Order. Had to save up some allowance money for those, haha. Really great show from start to finish. Punk block was stellar and it was nice hearing Unrest followed by the Weddoes after having seen Mark Robinson and Gedge and co. a couple weeks ago. I also caught the Bunnymen in San Francisco this past Friday and can confirm that Ian and Will and the band still sound awesome. May 22 in Denver I believe, and well worth seeing if they come to your burgh.

The fave DM b-side talk got me thinking of one of my fave New Order b-sides and I don’t think I recall ever having heard it on the show before, but I very well could be wrong. Request for a future communion: “Lonesome Tonight” by New Order.

Have a great week Matt, cheers!

  11. Nick Cave – Death Is Not The End

For a future shoegaze block, could you play a Chapterhouse song from Whirlpool album – April
( I am seeing them this Thursday ) as they are currently touring it again 36 years later!

    Constantine

I am sorry to say the Echo show in Toronto sold out faster than I could acquire tickets….sad since I don’t think I’ve seen them live (that I remember). I would love to hear these possible choices for next time:

Pixies – Where Is My Mind
    Stranglers – Golden Brown
Sisters of Mercy – Under The Gun

    Thanks again as always!!!! 。◕‿◕。

  24. Greetings Matt, fantastic show this week. Felt like it covered so much ground. And thanks a bunch for playing my request for Unrest! Was great top hear them followed by The Wedding Present. It was so great seeing Mark Robinson open for them a few months ago. What a year it has been for live music in general…

A few other highlights for me this time, just a few of many… Modern English, The Names, Crisis (really standing out amidst the great punk block), and a great return of Skeletal Family. All the best and looking forward to the Memorial Day weekend show!
