Dark Wave Playlists — April 12, 2026 at 10:57 pm

Playlist: Sirius XM’s “Dark Wave” — hosted by Matt Sebastian (4/12/26)

The Mission

“Dark Wave,” hosted by Slicing Up Eyeballs’ Matt Sebastian, explores the darker side of classic ’80s alternative, including vintage goth, post-punk and industrial. The show airs at 10 p.m. to 1 a.m. Eastern every Sunday on Sirius XM satellite radio’s 1st Wave (Channel 33).

The most recent two episodes are also available to subscribers to stream via the Sirius XM app.

Got a request? Requests will be considered for future episodes as long as they fit the show’s format and fall generally within the 1st Wave era — and provided the host doesn’t harbor an intense dislike of the song. If there’s something you’d like to hear, drop it in the comments below.

Hi Matt: Awesome show! I particularly loved the Chameleons’ “Soul in Isolation” in Hour 3. If you can fit it in during one of the next upcoming shows, could you play a cut off their “Artic Moon” album? Particularly apropos right now would be “Feels Like the End of the World” or “Saviors are a Dangerous Thing.”

    Thanks, R-

  11. Another session of kick-assery Matt Bravo!! Thank you for my Ministry request….sometimes you just gotta thrash it out! A great balance of tracks this time around….very balanced. I think hour 3 takes the perverbial cake tho! Anyway….some possible suggestions for next time:

    S and T B – Slowdive
    The Smiths – Cemetry Gates
    Tones on Tail – Shakes

    Thanks again as always!!! 。◕‿◕。

    • 3 killer requests Tina! I’ll throw my hat in the ring (go Sabres!) for “Shakes.” That’s one of my fave ToT tracks and I can’t recall having heard it on the show in a long while.

      • Yo Matt, the industrial and shoegaze sets lately have been awesome. Also loved hearing The Whigs last week! I am going to see them on their Anniversary tour at the end of the month. Please play some more!

      • Yessss go Sabres! You cannot imagine how crazed we are here about it!!!! ʘ‿ʘ. Thank you Nathan!!! Shakes is killer – you obviously have good taste lol!

    • I vote for Shakes too!

  12. Great show Matt! Thanks for almost closing the show with my PIL request, and for playing so many other requests this week. Highlights included Birthday Party, Rema Rema, Nurse With Wound, Fall, Pigface, and that block from The Cure to The Chameleons was like a darkwave primer for the uninitiated, solid gold.

Request for a future communion: how about something off Pixies’ Tromple le Monde? “Motorway to Roswell” is a personal fave, happy to go with a dealer’s choice too.

Have a great week Matt, cheers!

  13. Wow Matt! Very somber, brooding Dark Wave this week, love it,way to mix it up a bit.I feel it and here are some things to feel about as well.Take care & ALL THE BEST AS ALWAYS,listen to ya this Sunday.

Hey Matt, loved the show. I was hoping to hear “Stay” – by Shakespeare Sister on the next communion.

  16. Thank you for playing my JAMC request – it remains one of my all time favorites. And it came on just as I pulled into work, starting the day off on a good note…Other highlights include Fall, PIL, Cramps…

A request for an upcoming show:
RIDE “How Does It Feel To Feel”

As always, thank you! Wishing all a good week.

  17. That show was one of your best. You pulled some wild ones out! Loved Nurse With Wound into the Rema-Rema (now in my iTunes) into The Cramps. The dance party at the top of hour three was great. I think I may be starting to like Alien Sex Fiend. Und natürlich habe ich Laibach geliebt!

  18. Excellent show, and an especially killer final hour!

I’d love to hear “The Cow” by Gene Loves Jezebel sometime.

  19. Portishead – We Carry On (2008)

  20. No notes Many deep cuts this week and some new discoveries so thanks for that!
