Playlist: Sirius XM’s “Dark Wave” — hosted by Matt Sebastian (4/5/26)

Bauhaus

“Dark Wave,” hosted by Slicing Up Eyeballs’ Matt Sebastian, explores the darker side of classic ’80s alternative, including vintage goth, post-punk and industrial. The show airs at 10 p.m. to 1 a.m. Eastern every Sunday on Sirius XM satellite radio’s 1st Wave (Channel 33).

The most recent two episodes are also available to subscribers to stream via the Sirius XM app.

Got a request? Requests will be considered for future episodes as long as they fit the show’s format and fall generally within the 1st Wave era — and provided the host doesn’t harbor an intense dislike of the song. If there’s something you’d like to hear, drop it in the comments below.

  17. Another banger of a show Matt. Loved all 3 hours and have the replay on right now. Is that three shoegaze blocks in three weeks? Hell yes it is! AR Kane are another underappreciated band. Loved hearing some Drop Nineteens right after. Felt followed by that Magazine classic in hour 3 was also lovely.

The MBM into Cabaret Voltaire in hour 2 was super awesome and got me thinking for some reason of the great J. Saul Kane (RIP). May I request “Dead by Dawn” by Depth Charge for a future communion? Preferably the 12″ version but really anything off Nine Deadly Venoms would be sweet.

Have a great week Matt, cheers!

  18. Enjoyed the darkness!

Here’s a request – The Gun Club – Like Calling Up Thunder.

    Thanks!

  19. Matt, you’re our dark wave maestro – week after week the shows are simply fantastic. Thank you for including my Egg Hunt request in the mix. Other highlights include the Bunnymen, the Damned, Afghan Whigs, Cabaret Voltaire…

A request for a future episode: written during the Cold War and still (sadly) relevant…
    David Bowie “Fantastic Voyage”

    Thank you!

  20. Thanks for a great 3 hours of dark escapism. Maybe Missiles by The Sound?

  21. Hey Matt, fantastic show this week! There was such a great flow throughout and some great surprises.

Highlights for me…. Ski Patrol, this particular Xmas Deutschland song, an amazing block of shoegaze — thrilled to hear less familiar songs by Lush and Drop Nineteens, that great classic Killing Joke, Duck Hunt(!!) and Siglo XX.

Looking forward to the next transmission.

    • Just here to correct my mention of Duck Hunt instead of EGG Hunt : / guess i’ve got classic Nintendo NES games lodged in my brain.

  22. Hey Matt!

Awesome show as always! Last half of hour 2 especially, hearing Jazz C + Rozz W + Ian A within the same 30 min block is always going to be a great set!

Speaking of great vocalists, think its been a bit since we’ve heard any Graham Lewis … how about playing some Wire, or He Said, Take Care? Here are a couple of suggestions in the event you are so inclined! :)

    Blessed State // Wire
Tongue Ties // He Said Take Care

    Cheers!

  23. Sad to hear that Afrika Bambaataa had passed away today. One of the original hip hop greats. And I am still amazed how he collaborated with John Lydon on a little song in the 80’s. Could you please play the “Meltdown Remix” of World Destruction? One of my favorites, the beat is so hypnotic, and John’s voice is in a time zone, literally. Thanks. Love the show, and RIP Afrika.

  24. Hey Matt! Can I please request “And there will your heart be also” by Fields of the Nephilim for a future show?
Look forward to your show every week!
    Thanks

  25. Stano – The Protagonist 28 Nein – Destruction (1986)
    https://stano-dublin.bandcamp.com/album/seducing-decadence-in-morning-treecrash
Deux Filles – Our English Friends (1984) Apple Music + Qobuz

  26. Hey Matt. Kick ass show – again!
Can you play some Renegade Soundwave?
