“Dark Wave,” hosted by Slicing Up Eyeballs’ Matt Sebastian, explores the darker side of classic ’80s alternative, including vintage goth, post-punk and industrial. The show airs at 10 p.m. to 1 a.m. Eastern every Sunday on Sirius XM’s 1st Wave (Channel 33).

The most recent two episodes are available to subscribers to stream via the Sirius XM app.

Got a request? Requests will be considered for future episodes, but there’s no guarantee they’ll be played. They must fit the show’s format and fall generally within the 1st Wave era. And not be something the host really dislikes. If there’s something you’d like to hear, drop it in the comments below.

  1. Well Matt, the show was on fire tonight – I like my Industrial and you certainly didn’t hold back this week!

Request for you as it feels like I haven’t heard you play any Numb for a really long time and I would figure them for more regular appearances in the Dark Wave rotation.

Would love to hear “Shithammer (Dread & Bled Mix)”…if you feel like accommodating me.

    Thanks as always!

    Loved hearing The Chameleons!

Saw them in Austin Friday night – so many “baby goths” who were right up front and knew all the songs.

Hey Matt, a great set tonight as always.
I’d love to hear “A Realness” by Boy Harsher or “Stay” by Shakespeare Sister.

  14. Great show as usual, especially liked hearing Bailter Space and Executive Slacks.

  15. Add me to the list of those who enjoyed hearing Bailter Space. I’d like to suggest

    Adam and the Ants, “Zerøx”

The 1978 Peel Session version sounds better to my ears than the original single, but it’s all good.

  16. Holy s#@$!…. easily one of my favorite shows to date! Loved the industrial set and the shoegaze! I hadn’t heard Doubting Thomas in years! Thanks for also playing my Tones on Tail request!! The last set in the 3rd hour was (to phrase Nathan….the chiefs kiss)!! Anyway… some possible suggestions for next time:

Ned’s Atomic Dustbin – Grey Sell Green
    Placebo – Bigmouth Strikes Again
    INXS – Beautiful Girl

    Thanks again as always! 。◕‿◕。

  17. Always a BIG heart for 45 Grave. Matt looking forward to hearing Suspect Device – Stiff Little Fingers. Have an amazing week all.

  18. Hey Matt!

Ohhh Yess… I must concur, Hour 3 was simply supreme… thanks so much for starting that off w/ JAMC !! Rollercoaster EP is a fave (all songs worthy of Dark Wave ‘spinnage’ to be sure!)

OK – was listening to a Cleopatra comp earlier – I’ll request some industrial tunes next! – dealer’s choice amongst the following! :-)

Burn Baby Burn // Blok 57
    deCanonized // Kill Switch Click
Kick to Kill // Noise Unit

    Cheers!

  19. Awesme show! All 3 hours were amazing, can’t pick a winner, although I loved the stretch from Pixies to Suede (funny that I requested a Suede b-side off the Metal Mickey single last week, mind meld!) and thanks for playing my Pixies request. Ride channeling their inner classic rock was nice, always felt the Carnival of Light album was underrated, great pick Nicole. The hour 3 bookends with a JAMC deep cut and Abecedarians was absolutely the chef’s kiss! And Harold and Joe = pure headbopping bliss.

Request for a future shoegaze block in honor of Chapterhouse’s long awaited return stateside, a deep cut off of their first e.p.: “Need (Somebody)”.

Have a great week Matt, cheers!

  20. Enjoyed the blocks and hour 3!

Here’s a request for an upcoming DW – Morrissey – Spring-Heeled Jim. Thanks!

  21. Hi Matt, great show, as usual. It must be hard making this every week, after so long.
Her are a couple of suggestions for you.
Death In June – She Said Destroy
    Cold Cave – Promised Land
    Thanks and cheers!

  22. That last block of industrial was amazing, and the mix from Ministry to Front 242 was flawless!

  23. Hey Matt, amazing show this week! Had a blast listening. Thank you for playing my Bailter Space request, and it was a thrill to hear it come right after the guitar noise crafting of JAMC. End Of Your Garden, right after that, was such a cool weirdly-tuned track and I now really want to get more familiar with that artist.

You played an amazing trifecta of songs by our Supreme Mothers of Dark Wave, with the Cocteau’s Blood Bitch reigning supreme. That was a very cool block of British rock that spanned Shoegaze to Britpop. It’s a treat to hear Catherine Wheel’s cover of Husker Du and Curve was great too.

Have a great week and looking forward to the next transmission!

PS for all the fellow live music fanatics, saw the band EXEK from Australia this week. Incredible fascinating performance, I reccommend checking out.

  24. Hi Matt – Great pick playing The Comsat Angels “I’m Falling”. This was used in the movie Real Genius. I’m surprised it was not a bigger hit.

Thanks for playing Kate Bush over the years. We’ve taken a deep dive into the brilliance of her music and career. Could you play “Waking the Witch”.

Thanks for playing The Cure deep cut “Shiver & Shake”. How about playing the dark “The Kiss”.

As always, the Industrial sets were great. Thanks for playing Die Krupps the other week. The more industrial the better.

  25. Requiem In White – Prodigal Son

  26. I’ll ring in with the others – this show was epic! Thanks for playing my Joy Division request. I have another request below:

    Prinzessin – D.A.F.
