My Life With the Thrill Kill Kult
“Dark Wave,” hosted by Slicing Up Eyeballs’ Matt Sebastian, explores the darker side of classic ’80s alternative, including vintage goth, post-punk and industrial. The shows airs at 10 p.m. to 1 a.m. Eastern every Sunday on Sirius XM satellite radio’s 1st Wave (Channel 33).
The most recent two episodes are also available to subscribers to stream via the Sirius XM app.
Got a request? Requests will be considered for future episodes as long as they fit the show’s format and fall generally within the 1st Wave era — and provided the host doesn’t harbor an intense dislike of the song. If there’s something you’d like to hear, drop it in the comments below.

Great playlist tonight
Hi Matt! Great show tonight, loved the Drop Nineteens track and thanks for playing Want!
Here’s my request:
New Order – Procession
Hey Matt!
Great show as always!… thanks much for playing Brigandage! And smh that Jack Dangers’ remix of Crash Worship was sooooo awesome… makes me think I should request some more MBM… however, it’s now Summer… so I’ll just go with any one of the following off of one of 1986’s best dark wave releases – these tracks blend into one another so seemlessly, it is always hard to pick a fave!
Siouxsie and the Banshees // [Tinderbox]: Party’s Fall, 92 Degrees, Lands End.
Cheers!
Matt, you are the Dark where there is light, lol.Thanx much for spinning my request and a terrific Playlist ta boot. Here ya go as always,my requests:
Psychic TV-United 94
Electric Hellfire Club-Mr.44
Stump-Buffalo
All the best as always, can’t wait till Sunday night.
M.
Thanks for playing CD “Tales of Innocence”. I bought their album Attrocities the month it came out when I was 16, a million years ago. Been ages since I’ve listened to the album but I still know all the words. The album had a poster with all the lyrics and it hung in my bedroom wall for years. Thanks for the time travel Matt!
Hi Matt, I loved the song by crash worship tonight.
“She’s a Carnival” by Siouxsie + the Banshees for (the next after next) Sunday’s show
Hey Matt
It’s been a while since I requested this one , but what about one of the best Cure B-sides It Used To Be Me
Constantine
I love all the Jane’s addiction recently. Great add to the show.
Can you play order of death by PIL and send it out to all the Mr robot fans?
Thanks as always
Love JAMC to start things off! And so much goodness that followed…Highlights include Wire, Happy Mondays, Cabaret Voltaire, PIL and the perfect tributes to Brian Wilson and Sly Stone.
Thank you for playing my Fugazi request – greatly appreciated.
A request for a future show:
The Smiths “I won’t share you”
Thank you!
Hello Matt and happy almost July to you!!! Thank you for my Psych Furs request….such a classic from them. I loved this weeks playlist….so many good choices from everyone! I would like to use possible suggestion for next time to request something (Dealers Choice) from Faith No More. I was hoping they would tour this year but it doesn’t appear likely. I saw them once in the early 90’s…and it still goes down as one of the best shows I ever saw. Anyway, it would rock my red socks if you would play some FNM for me.
Thanks again as always!!!! 。◕‿◕。
Siouxsie & The Banshees – Voodoo Dolly
My wife seconds this request!
Dark Wave brings me perpetual delight! It’s like I’m reliving the 1980s but with music I’m hearing only now!
A request: Would you play Shriekback’s “This Big Hush”? It’s from their 1985 album “Oil & Gold” and appears on the soundtrack to “Manhunter,” Michael Mann’s neo-noir thriller (also from 1985). It’s one of the best films ever made.
Thanks so much!
Great range of variety in each hour!
Here’s a request –
X – The Unheard Music
Thanks!
I’ll second this request! I’m singing “no hard chords on the car radio” as I type this…
Thank you for the Crashworship , that might be the first time I heard them played outside of College radio back in the early 1990s, also great to hear Nurse With Wound.
I think I’ve heard most everything really alternative played on your show , I don’t remember hearing any Death In June played , I really only prefer the track written by Tibet 93 , and vocals backing by Rose , early DIJ when members of Crisis , then left for Sol Invictus, Sith COMM , … NON on mute records , but Spell , has many covers , unlike Strawberry Switchblade who only did one album , like Princess Tiny Meat … Yup all are requested.
Awesome three hours! Can’t pick a winner this week. Thanks for playing my Wire request, first time I’ve ever heard that one on the radio. Other highlights were the Brian//Sly double shot, Weddoes doing pavement, Drop Nineteens, Rudimentary Peni and Fugazi. Would love to hear some more Crash Worship and Nurse with Wound.
Request for a future installment: dealer’s choice selection by Executive Slacks.
Have a great week Matt, cheers!
Please play Kathy’s Song by Apoptygma Berserk, 7″ edit by VNV Nation.
Cool episode! Here are some more requests.
Shelleyan Orphan – Shatter
Depeche Mode – Shake the Disease (Demo)
Japan – Ghosts
I have a request for Public Image Limited – The order of death; This is what you want this is what you get.
Thanks
Hey Matt, great show on Sunday I loved the Drop Nineteens, Happy Monday’s, Mercury Rev, Psychedelic Furs, Wedding Present, Janes Addiction And Psychic T.V tracks the most, but everything was good as aways Do you mind playing
“I Want You” by Pulp.
I really love that track.
Thanks for the Pretty & Twisted as well as the Iggy Pop over the past couple of shows.
Still playing catch up on my XM shows, but Hour 1 of this week’s show has been amazing. I have to keep replaying Magazine’s take of “Thank You”. Great call.
Looking forward to the rest of the show at work tomorrow. Thanks and have a great week.
Hey Matt!!
Love the show! Wish they had a channel with just dark wave stuff. My request is Cocteau Twins “Tinderbox (Of A Heart). Thanks!!
Can you please play one of my favorite covers? Siouxsie & Banshees – You’re Lost Little Girl.
My Bloody Valentine – Instrumental No. 2 (1988) Apple Music + Qobuz
The 69 Eyes – Gothic Girl (1999) Apple Music + Qobuz
Hi Matt and Happy 4th to you! It’s been a blur of a week, but it started with a great Dark Wave as usual. Among other highlights, loved the triple threat of Wedding Present’s take on Box Elder (I agreed Pavements was multilayered crazy genius) into Drop Nineteens into Lush… plus fantastic songs by Mercury Rev, Wire, and Fugazi. School was in session with Rudimentary Peni and My Dad is Dead. Both new to me, both great. Feel like I can hear My Dad is Dead’s influence on current post punkers Protomartyr. Til the next transmission!
Keep the Psych Furs coming! How about “Bruises” or one of the darker tracks from New Fast Automatic Daffodils’ “Exit Body Exit Mind”?
