A reminder about requests: Playlists for this show need to be made several weeks in advance, so when you’re asking to hear certain songs, it’ll be a few shows down the road before they can be considered for inclusion. But, as always, thank you for your requests. They’re GREATLY appreciated.
Great show tonight Matt. I loved Candyman Collapse.
Man, did that double header of Jane’s Addiction and Love & Rockets hit perfectly last night… First time I’ve had the luxury of listening live in a few weeks. Hope all reading this are well!
Another great show Matt.
I would like to request The Chameleons – “Second Skin” . Thanks again.
Great show per usual. I have a request. Probably my favorite cover of all time. Siouxsie & the Banshees rendition of “You’re Lost Little Girl” by The Doors. Thanks so much
Another excellent serving of dark tunes! Thank you for including my Germs request – much appreciated. Jane’s followed by Love and Rockets was perfection! Other highlights – Suede, Bauhaus, Stranglers, Joy Division, Damned, Anne Clark…
A request for a future episode – going shoegaze this time around:
Ride “Decay”
Thank you! Wishing everyone a good week ahead.
The Germ’s song was great. And following up from last week, wow yeah now I realize the Liquid, Liquid — hip hop connection. “Something Like a phenomenon….” love it!
My suggestion would be Cocteau twins wax and wane or skinny puppy rodent thanks
Burning Skies by Tones on Tails! Love it! Thank you!!!
Some requests for future shows:
New Model Army – “Vagabonds”
Chainsaw Kittens – “Violent Religion”
The Mission – “Hymn”
Cocteau Twins – Pepper-Tree
Thank you Matt for playing Wayne County last week. I informed all concerned, and they were thrilled with my news: Jimi LaLumia (manager) said “Great Work, a true fan and friend” He suggested you play “Things You’re Mother Never Told You”, I wanted to suggest playing “Man Enough To Be A Woman” for the last week of the Pride Month of June, and Jayne herself liked my suggestion. Drummer Joseph Rizzo suggested playing “Trying To Get On The Radio” which seems appropriate for this situation. Whichever song you decide to play for us, we will be very happy. Thank you again, and last night’s Hour 3 was just awesome: every song in that hour, especially Dead Or Alive, Au Pairs, The Germs!!! Great Great Great
Great choices in the middle parts of each hour!
I’d like to request anything by Alan Vega/Suicide in honor of what would have been his birthday today.
Thanks!
Hey Matt, Last night’s show was great lots of kick ass tracks. I loved the cuts by Ministry, 1919, JAMC, Love and Rockets, Janes addiction, The Germs and I really liked that Rollerskate Skinny track, I haven’t heard of them before, but that was a fantastic number. I would love to hear on a future show anything by The Darkside maybe their cover of “ Frankie Teardrop” to go along with Alan Vega’s birthday.
Thanks
The The—Flesh and Bones
Dead Can Dance – Threshold (album version)
Hello Matt!!! Thank you for playing my Stranglers request….that song is probably in my top 20 favorite songs….just perfect! I too am thinking Shoegaze is in order!!!!! Some possible suggestions for next time:
The Stone Roses – Bye Bye Bad Man
Inspiral Carpets – Dragging Me Down
Slowdive – No Longer Making Time
Thanks again as always!!! 。◕‿◕。
Great show this week, Matt! Amongst many highlights, loved the Throwing Muses song, Rollerskate Skinny was a cool discovery, and the old school punk set in hour 3 was fantastic.
I am always glad to hear Foetus on the show, and would like to request the song Verklemmt from the album Gash.
It is a bit later period and maybe a little less highly regarded than his earlier works. This era is dear to me because it is when I first discovered JG Thirwell and went out to see Foetus play at the Knitting Factory. Til next week!
Matt, you never let us down and I appreciate that & playing a request and Die Krupps, omg, thanx much! The Dark work you do is undeniable, lol.
Here I go & again all the best!
Nitzer Ebb-T.W.A.
KMFDM-The Unrestrained Use of Excessive Force
Psychic T.V.-United

Great show Matt, It would be awesome if you played Nitzer Ebb- Let your body learn. Dedicating it to Daniela for being a great friend.
Hour 3 for the win! Splendid show all around as always, but the nod goes to the spot on final hour. And huge props to whoever requested Rollerskate Skinny (or maybe that was another Matt genius selection?). I had not heard Dublin’s answer to Mercury Rev and Flaming Lips in ages and look forward to revisiting their work. Thanks again for the reminder about the Jane’s/L&R imploded tour, that one still stings. Also really enjoying the new stuff from Mr. Murphy.
I’m going to hop on Nicole and Tina’s shoegaze bandwagon and would like to request some Pale Saints. Dealer’s choice is perfectly fine by me, ‘Throwing Back the Apple’ would be my suggestion.
Have a great week Matt, cheers!
Ugh yeah I was so pissed ….. cancelled the tour 3 days before I was seeing them in Toronto!! I’ve seen Jane’s before but never L&R!!!! Stupid Perry.
You and me both! Fortunately I caught Love and Rockets at Cruel World and when they played Oakland. Also saw them in San Francisco way back in 96 with The Dandy Warhols and Brian Jonestown Massacre opening. That was a helluva show! But now I’ll never see Jane’s. :(
Matt,
Have you given any thoughts to adding an occasional “modern dark wave” block to the show where you feature bands that have taken up the torch from the classic bands you always play and carried it into the present day? I think your listeners would enjoy hearing bands like ACTORS, Drab Majesty, The Foreign Resort, Forever Grey, The New Division, Night Riots, and Night Sins just to name a few.
Keep the great music coming!
Hi Matt, this show was your best yet!! All three hours! Not one stinker. Thanks for playing “Wasteland.”
Thanks Matt for playing my Peter Murphy request. I don’t know Pretty and Twisted but that song was great – will be looking into them. It’s incredible how much music I’ve discovered through your program all these years.
Thanks for playing Rollerskate Skinny for me, on a future show could you please possibly play something off of Drop Nineteens more recent release of a album of demo tracks from 1991. Some of their best songs are on that, a couple top picks from it are “ Shannon Waves”, “Daymom”, and “ Back In Our Old Bed” also another contender could be
“Another Summer” just because it is summer. Thanks again, It was a fantastic show I truly loved the picks of For Against, Jane’s Addiction B-movie, Ministry and Love and Rockets.
Hi Matt, nice show, lots of great tracks, I was enjoyed this! Thanks for playing U-Men, I love Front-242 first album. :)
Hey Matt. Thank you for playing such great music. I have discovered so many new bands and danced the night to the best hits. My partner is meeting me from Baltimore and I’ll be picking them up around the time your show is playing. We both love Depeche Mode and I was wondering if you could play Strangelove.
Thanks for Die Krupps!
My requests:
Number Eleven by Dead or Alive
7 Words by Pigface
Bargeld by KMFDM
Great show!!!
Lots to love about this episode, I mean what else can you ask for in a radio show, I mean you’ve got a mix of everything Industrial, Synth, Indie, Goth, Punk, Post-Punk, and Shoegaze. I guess the only other thing would be Space Rock. Well I guess I will suggest a song for space rock, If you could find room in one of your sets I would love to hear just about anything by Brian Jonestown Massacre, I just recently rewatched their doc “Dig!” And now it’s got me wanting to listen to them. Some of my favorite songs by them are Evergreen, That Girl Suicide. Anemone, and When Joker’s Attack. Thanks you so much for the great programming, keep it up.
Can you dig up the original Joy Division version of In A Lonely Place
How about a newer tune like”Chains” or “All I Wear is Black” from Dead on a Sunday. If not, some Camouflage. “Helpless Helpless” or “These Eyes”.
Thanks, Matt!
The Room – Bated Breath (1981) Apple Music + Qobuz
Grauzone – Eisbär (1981) Apple Music + Bandcamp + Bleep
Thank you so much for playing “Tainted Love” and “Candyman Collapse”! I had never heard that song before. I took a screenshot and sent it to his wife. Guess I need to listen to more of his solo stuff. Going to listen to the show live tonight as I finally get moved into my new Chicago home! Will make unpacking go much faster…
Heading out to see OMD at HOB Cleveland tonight. Their first three albums are undeniably amazing.
Play anything from The Debut LP 1980, Organisation 1980 or Architecture and Morality’ ‘81
