Photographer Simon Larbalestier’s iconic Pixies album artwork — created during the college-rock kingpins’ original 1986-1993 run as well as the band’s ongoing reunion — will be the subject of a six-week retrospective at a U.K. art gallery beginning next month.

Beggars Archive this morning revealed a preliminary tracklist for its upcoming 4CD Omnibus Edition of The Fall’s 1984 album ‘The Wonderful and Frightening World of the Fall,’ which is due for release later this year alongside an expanded edition of ‘This Nation’s Saving Grace.’

After just a year behind the kit, Social Distortion announced Monday that drummer Adam ‘Atom’ Willard — who also plays with blink-182’s Tom DeLonge in Angels & Airwaves — is leaving the long-running L.A. punk act.

This week’s new releases include the Gorillaz’s ‘Plastic Beach’ — featuring a reunion of The Clash’s Mick Jones and Paul Simonon — plus reissues of Spandau Ballet’s first two albums and a new early-’80s best-of from The Fleshtones.

While this week’s installment of ‘Dark Wave’ on Sirius XM featured a host of all-too-usual suspects (The Cure’s ‘Other Voices,’ Public Image Ltd.’s ‘Rise,’ The Sisters of Mercy’s ‘Lucretia, My Reflection’), there were, as always, some pleasant surprises, including ‘Bird Mad Girl’ from the aforementioned Cure, a dash of the always-welcome Chameleons and even a Chris Connelly track.
