“Dark Wave,” hosted by Slicing Up Eyeballs’ Matt Sebastian, explores the darker side of classic ’80s alternative, including vintage goth, post-punk and industrial. The show airs at 10 p.m. to 1 a.m. Eastern every Sunday on Sirius XM’s 1st Wave (Channel 33).
The most recent two episodes are available to subscribers to stream via the Sirius XM app.
Got a request? Requests will be considered for future episodes, but there’s no guarantee they’ll be played. They must fit the show’s format and fall generally within the 1st Wave era. And not be something the host really dislikes. If there’s something you’d like to hear, drop it in the comments below.

Yes to “Velouria” — I was thinking the same thing when he played “Stormy Weather” a couple weeks back.
How about the Meat Beat Manifesto remix of the Shamen – Hyperreal Selector?
I have been loving the Meat Beat lately! How about Now? That remix EP is one of my all time favs. But now that Matt has led me to Coil, I notice they are using a lot of the same samples from The Snow remixes. Loving it all.
Another great show Matt, hour 2 takes the cake for me.
Request for a future show please,
All that Money Wants – Psychedelic Furs
Lol, Crowleymass was my request, but I have to say I didn’t think you’d actually play it! Loved it, hope it delighted other people too! And a great show overall, I particularly liked Section 25 and Manufacture!
Maybe a few requests of artists you don’t play much:
1. Thomas Dolby – Airwaves (from “Golden Age of Wireless”)
2. Art of Noise – Close To The Edit (from “Who’s Afraid…”)
3. Barry Adamson – Checkpoint Charlie (from “Soul Murder”)
4. The Force Dimension – Tension (from “The Force Dimension”)
5. Laurie Anderson – From The Air (or anything from “Big Science”)
Yes, Section 25 and Manufacture!
Excellent show tonight, Matt!
Here, here – Disintegration is one of my all time favorite Cure songs!
Thanks for playing my Ministry request! And yes, I enjoyed Crowleymass, as silly as it is. And as usual, I loved hearing the really obscure stuff, never even heard of Oedipus Scream but I liked their song.
New batch of requests for future shows:
Test Dept. – Fist
Hula – Cut Me Loose
Chrome – Danger Zone
Data-Bank-A – Two Steps Back
Desmond Simmons – Man the Lifeboat
Hi Matt –
Excellent show tonight. Would love to hear “Revenge” by Waiting For God on a future Dark Wave.
Thanks,
Dave W.

I really loved listening to the show tonight. I’m a new subscriber and I love the live format. It’s great to hear someone between the songs instead of just a playlist.
Anyway, if you could play the song:
Baby’s Got A Problem by My Dad Is Dead.
Thank you,
Zachary
Albuquerque, NM.
Welcome to Darkwave central Zachary!
Outstanding request! Would love to hear some MDID on Dark Wave.
For a future show, I’d like to request “A Drink Before the War” by Sinead O’Connor. Please & thank you!
Hey Matt! Always enjoy the show, thanks for taking the time every week.
Sunday, August 23rd is my bday! I’m not saying the ENTIRE show should be industrial to celebrate, , but maybe we can get one of the EBM/Industrial power hours in there? Or at least the Turbo Techno Remix of On the Run by BiGod 20. Thanks!
Matt, way to weave a Dark, sinister tapestry and all in 3 hours, you know what your doing my friend.Thanx again for the request play, much appreciated. Here are some PLZ & THANX once again. ALL THE BEST AS ALWAYS.

Swervedriver – The Birds
Seconded!
Awesome show Matt. I gotta give the nod to hour 2, loved hearing Wire, Cabaret Voltaire, Wolfgang Press among other titans. Had never heard Oedipus Scream before, nice one! I need to seek out more JAMC peel session stuff on vinyl.
Request for a future communion: “In the Ditch” by Gang of Four.
Have a great week Matt, cheers!
Great show as always!
How about Your Silent Face by New Order
Hello Matt great program this week…I especially loved hour 3!!! I am going to see Helmet in a few weeks (haven’t seen them since the early 90’s!!) in Buffalo and would love to hear their track from the The Crow soundtrack. The song is Milquetoast. If this doesn’t quite fit the mold, here are some other suggestions for next time:
Filter – Jurassitol
The Cult – Big Neon Glitter
The Pixies – Wave of Mutilation (UK Surf)
Thanks again as always!!!!! 。◕‿◕。
“Wave of Mutilation” is nice, but how about “Hey”? Matt do you not like that song? I have requested a couple times and I know I’ve seconded it. But as long as I’ve listened (3-4 yrs now?) you’ve never played it. I just can’t believe you don’t like that song!
I honestly love most of the Pixies catalogue. Hey is a great song also! I think that version of Wave is just sublime tho….
It’s funny because this really brings back some memories…going to SUNY @ Buffalo, having no way of getting around but making my way to this terrible venue back then Blind Melons to see Helmet and Quicksand and Orange 9 mm! What a weird night. By bus and a little hitchhiking seemed like hours to get there….I had doctored my drivers license just a bit, just to get in; didn’t care about drinking. Apparently I didn’t need to but they noticed, kept my license and mailed it to my parents…who shrugged. I missed most of Quicksand but Helmet was pretty great.
Hey Dave! I am from North of Buffalo – lived here my whole life! This is the Helmet concert I went to ……
Faith No More / Helmet
Oct 1, 1992
Alumni Arena, University at Buffalo Amherst, New York, United States
It will always go down as one of the best shoes I’ve ever been to!! If memory serves it was in the gymnasium!! Is this the vibert you were at also?! If so how cool!!
concert
Insanity- Thrill in to the soul
No Friends of Harry – More Thoughts to Forget
Enjoyed the darkness in hour three!
Here’s a request going into August/September –
Throwing Muses – Saving Grace
Thanks!
Hey Greg, my cat Micio also appreciated hearing your request of Front 242’s Felines on this show :)
Loved that Pigface. And that wild Alan Vega song (from last week? they are running together) and Alien Sex Fiend . When I get through this crazy Coil phase you’ve inspired, I may go there next!
Thank you!
Hey Matt, great show! Just trying to keep up…loved hearing Section 25, always reminds me I am not as familiar with them as I should be, and the entirely unfamiliar but great Oedipus Scream. Looking forward to checking out more of them. Also really liked the dub mix of the Field of Nephilim cut. Otherwise awesome all around. Looking forward to the next episode.
