“Dark Wave,” hosted by Slicing Up Eyeballs’ Matt Sebastian, explores the darker side of classic ’80s alternative, including vintage goth, post-punk and industrial. The show airs at 10 p.m. to 1 a.m. Eastern every Sunday on Sirius XM’s 1st Wave (Channel 33).
The most recent two episodes are available to subscribers to stream via the Sirius XM app.
Got a request? Requests will be considered for future episodes, but there’s no guarantee they’ll be played. They must fit the show’s format and fall generally within the 1st Wave era. How come you never play Depeche Mode’s song, Black Celebration? We hear snippets of it basically every week, during the show soundbites (unless I’m wrong?), or whatever they’re called. Would be neat to hear the actual song, sometime!
I’ve heard it on Dark Wave before. Funny thing is that Sluggo played a remix of it on Party 360 just a couple of days before this show.

Just finished second listen of “Something’s Burning” Ep from 2 weeks ago. I had to listen to my first request to hit the penultimate position! Also loved “Helpline Operator” leading in. And there definitely was something burning in that first hour — the Coil. Loved it. I am already on second listen of last week’s episode, and I am digging all the new stuff! That block at the end of hour two is especially great — from Electric Guitars to Poesie Noire — so much to explore further.
