“Dark Wave,” hosted by Slicing Up Eyeballs’ Matt Sebastian, explores the darker side of classic ’80s alternative, including vintage goth, post-punk and industrial. The show airs at 10 p.m. to 1 a.m. Eastern every Sunday on Sirius XM’s 1st Wave (Channel 33).

The most recent two episodes are available to subscribers to stream via the Sirius XM app.

Got a request? Requests will be considered for future episodes, but there’s no guarantee they’ll be played. They must fit the show’s format and fall generally within the 1st Wave era. And not be something the host really dislikes. If there’s something you’d like to hear, drop it in the comments below.

  10. Talk about fireworks….this setlist is sizzling!!! The first hour was simply perfection. Thank you for playing my Echo request….I agree – a very underrated song that isn’t played as much as it should be. Hoping you’re enjoying your July! Some possible suggestions for next time — psssst it’s time for shoegaze!!::

MY BLOODY VALENTINE – Soon [from the 1990 “Glider” EP]

    Thanks again as always!!!! 。◕‿◕。

  11. An amazing show as always! I don’t know how you can find some of this stuff but i’m really happy you do and love listening to the 80’s Dark Wave obscurities and rarities I missed the first time around!

Love Moev, saw them once in Boston with Xymox on Comm Ave in 1989. I went to see Moev, and hadn’t even heard of Xymox which was the headliner. Now I’m forever a Xymox fan.

A Certain Ratio and Tuxedomoon awesome too! Armageddon Dildos was great!

Some more dark obscurities to consider for future shows (if you haven’t already played them):

    Bauhaus: Kick in the Eye
Chris and Cosey: Put Yourself in Los Angeles
    Der Plan: Red Green Dead
    Liliput: DC10
    Medium Medium: Hungry so Angry

Thanks Matt for the best show on Sirius XM!

  14. Great theme/mood each hour!

I’d like to request X’s “Under the Big Black Sun” for a future DW. Thanks!

  15. How about some House of Love? I Don’t Know Why I Love You or You Don’t Understand please!

  16. Thanks for playing “One Hundred Years!” I got to hear it live again, however I started to drift in and out of consciousness during the Acid Horse, which was wonderful. I remember the first or second time I ever listened to the show, you played one of those “No Name, No Slogan” mixes which I had never heard before and I realized I had to start listening to the show regularly! And yes I got that 12″ on Discogs.

Anyway, I am on my second listen on the app, but have not finished the show yet, and I don’t want any spoilers, so I gotta get outta here before I am tempted to peek at the list.

  17. I’m not sure I could think of better bookends than kicking off the show with the perfect Galaxie 500 cut and ending with a Big Black gem, solid gold! Hour 1 gets the nod for me with the Manchester block into a Cure classic. Loved hearing MBM, RevCo, Bunnymen and JAMC.

Request for a future communion: “Attack Ships on Fire” by RevCo.

Have a great week Matt, cheers!

  18. I was curious how many Fourth of July songs you could find. Fine job all around. I think Hour 2 had the win this week.

Would like to request Dead Boys “Ain’t It Fun” on a future episode please.

Thanks for the great music. Have a good week.

  19. Thanks for playing my MBM request! it seemed very appropriate for a Fourth Of July show.

  20. mynameisPaul

Can you do J Division’s version of Ceremony, or
    Anything by UK Decay

  21. Echo & The Bunnymen – The Killing Moon (All Night Version) (1983) Vinyl & CD only
I have a HQ Digital Rip from the 1984 vinyl, if you want it

  22. That is some deep cut by the Human League…I’d never heard that darker side of their work!
