Dead Can Dance
“Dark Wave,” hosted by Slicing Up Eyeballs’ Matt Sebastian, explores the darker side of classic ’80s alternative, including vintage goth, post-punk and industrial. The show airs at 10 p.m. to 1 a.m. Eastern every Sunday on Sirius XM’s 1st Wave (Channel 33).
The most recent two episodes are available to subscribers to stream via the Sirius XM app.
Got a request? Requests will be considered for future episodes, but there’s no guarantee they’ll be played. They must fit the show’s format and fall generally within the 1st Wave era. Fantastic set this week! And you totally got me, I did recently rewatch Blade Runner with my 13yo son and couldn’t stop thinking about the famous lines from Rutger Hauer. And of course that got me thinking of the awesome RevCo track. Most definitely a big fan of both!

Greetings Matt, hope you’ve been having a great summer! Loved this episode and have really been enjoying episodes of late overall. Been very behind at getting over to the board.
A few highlights for me from this one — Medium Medium, Manufacture, The Dead Boys. Many of the more familiar artists were also a treat to hear. The show certainly had some funk and groove coming through in the mix.
skimming back through a few past episodes…. I was pleasantly surprised to hear Pain Teens going into a classic Filth-era Swans tune, and Kommunity FK, and shoegaze blocks always.
I am currently in Osaka, Japan for a bit and had the thrill of experiencing some old school post-punk by the 80s group EP-4. I had never heard of them before, and I was in awe being hit with stuff reminiscent of dark wave classics from a less focused on part of the globe.
So, if it’s possible, I’d love to request EP-4 “Robothood Process” .
Looking forward to the next dark transmission!
