The Breeders returned to Conan O’Brien’s late-night show last week for the first time in 25 years, performing the song “Wait in the Car” off the band’s just-released new album All Nerve — the group’s first record featuring the Last Splash-era lineup since, well, the Last Splash era. Former Throwing Muses bandmates — and step-sisters — Kristin Hersh and Tanya Donelly re-teamed on stage in Boston over the weekend, playing three shows together at City Winery. The performances featured separate solo sets each by Donelly and Hersh, plus a joint encore of the Muses’ “Two Step,” the last song on The Real Ramona

Tanya Donelly has announced plans to go into the studio with her reunited ’90s act Belly to record that band’s 22-years-in-the-making third album, and she’s re-teaming with her former Throwing Muses bandmate (and step-sister) Kristin Hersh for a concert this fall in Boston.
The Breeders, who’ve been in the studio recording a follow-up to 2008’s Mountain Battles, will head out on the road this fall, playing nine dates in Europe in October followed by 10 more dates in the U.S., including a slot opening for the Arcade Fire in St. Paul, Minn. See full dates here.
Originally released in 1993, Star — the debut album from ex-Throwing Muses member Tanya Donelly’s band Belly — will receive its first-ever American vinyl release later this year when Plain Recordings reissues the title on 180-gram vinyl, the label announced on Facebook.
