Ministry has released a new live album on Bandcamp — with a vinyl edition following in September — that, while not advertised as such, is taken from the same 1990 concert that spawned the six-song In Case You Didn’t Feel Like Showing Up live album and companion home video release.

For this week’s installment of Vintage Video, we present the out-of-print, oft-bootlegged Public Image Ltd. concert film “Anarchy Movie ’85,” which only ever was released officially on VHS in Japan. This VHS transfer has surprisingly great picture and audio quality.

Shriekback — self-described “weirdshit danceband, now very old indeed” — is planning to play live for the first time in nearly 25 years, and is soliciting fans to help fund a U.K. and European tour with the promise that, if successful, a North American outing could follow by summer 2018.

Keith Levene, founding member of both The Clash and Public Image Ltd., plans to resurrect what was to be PiL’s fourth album —1984’s Commercial Zone, released in two different incarnations — and “enhance it with original material,” finishing the album 30 years later.

John Lydon will tour North American arenas this summer, but not with Public Image Ltd. or the Sex Pistols — no, the erstwhile Johnny Rotten will play King Herod in a new touring production of “Jesus Christ Superstar” that also will feature members of Incubus, *NSYNC and Destiny’s Child.

Public Image Ltd. is working on a “comprehensive, career-spanning” documentary about itself, and is turning to fans to help track down “never before seen” photographs as well as rare film and video footage of John Lydon and Co. from any time period of the group’s career.

Virgin Records is celebrating its 40th anniversary this fall, a milestone the label will mark, in part, with a series of vinyl reissues from Public Image Ltd., including a new 180-gram picture disc of 1986’s Album, a 7-inch picture disc of “This Is Not a Love Song” and a double A-sided 12-inch singe featuring “Rise” and “Warrior.”

Here’s 9 minutes of footage from a 1987 spot on “120 Minutes,” as the Public Image Ltd. frontman’s ‘s wry personality comes into sharp contrast with Kevin Seal’s absurdist take on hosting.

For this week’s installment of Vintage Video, we bring you the full hour-long performance by Public Image Ltd. on the West German TV show “Rockpalast” in 1983, a 13-song set that recently was released on both CD and DVD — but the folks at the RockpalastOfficial YouTube channel put it online.

This week’s new releases include brand-new studio albums from Skinny Puppy (‘Weapon’), British Electric Foundation (‘Music of Quality and Distinction Vol. 3: Dark’) , The Stranglers (‘Giants’) and The Pastels (‘Slow Summits’), plus a Public Image Ltd. reissue and a box set from The Woodentops.

John Lydon’s resurrected Public Image Ltd. went Down Under last month for a tour of Australia in support of last year’s comeback album This Is PiL, and the folks at Moshcam have been so kind as to post a full two-hour show filmed April 11 in Sydney. Check out the full set right here.

Public Image Ltd. will follow up this month’s Record Store Day reissue of debut 7-inch “Public Image” later this year with the band’s first-ever U.S. release of debut album ‘First Issue,’ which will be released in expanded 2CD and single-LP vinyl editions with “various bonus material.”

The lineup for this summer’s Glastonbury festival was announced today, and it’s an utter monstrosity, with headliners The Rolling Stones, Arctic Monkeys and Mumford & Sons joined by a seemingly endless list of bands, including Primal Scream, Nick Cave & The Bad Seeds, Elvis Costello, Billy Bragg and more.
