Hunters & Collectors — best-known to American fans for late-’80s modern-rock hits “Back on the Breadline” and “When the River Runs Dry” — will be the subject of a new tribute album next month featuring interpretations of the band’s music by Eddie Vedder and Neil Finn, Paul Kelly, The Living End, The Avalanches and more.

Taking a break from the ongoing Crowded House tour, bandleader Neil Finn played a solo show at London’s Jazz Cafe last night, and as he’s wont to do, invited Johnny Marr onstage to perform several songs, including The Smiths’ beloved ‘There Is a Light That Never Goes Out.’

Crowded House has posted two videos from its Sept. 1 gig in Edmonton, Canada: a rousing take on Neil Finn’s classic 1981 Split Enz single ‘History Never Repeats,’ and ‘Four Season in One Day,’ a single off the Crowdies’ 1992 album ‘Woodface.’

As Crowded House nears the end of its U.S. tour, the band this week released an official music video for ‘Either Side of the World,’ the second single off this summer’s ‘Intriguer.’

Crowded House tonight posted video of the band, joined by Neil Finn’s son, Liam Finn, performing Neil Young’s classic ‘Old Man’ in Clearwater, Fla., on Wednesday night as a tribute to longtime Young sideman Ben Keith, who died two days earlier.

Given today’s release of ‘Intriguer’ in the U.K., it seems fitting to post this sweet clip: Crowded House and the venerable Johnny Marr covering the David Bowie classic ‘Moonage Daydream’ during the encore of the band’s May 27 concert in Manchester.
