Reprising a show staged earlier this year in New York City, German electronic collective Kraftwerk will bring its ground-breaking 3-D multimedia presentation “Kraftwerk – Retrospective 1 2 3 4 5 6 7 8” to London’s Tate Modern museum, performing each of its eight albums in its entirety across nine nights in February.

The series launched this summer, and, so far, titles are available on Joy Division/New Order, The Smiths, Cocteau Twins and David Bowie. Next month sees publication of a title on Kate Bush, with books due in spring and summer 2013 on Abba, My Bloody Valentine, Kraftwerk, PIxies, R.E.M. and Roxy Music.

‘Krautrock: The Rebirth of Germany’ spans 1968 to 1977, examining ‘how a radical generation of musicians created a new German musical identity out of the cultural ruins of war.’ Check out the full hour-long doc, posted here, which features music and interviews from Kraftwerk, Can, Faust, Popol Vuh, Neu! and more.
