Friends of Devo’s Bob Casale seeking donations to help support his wife, children

Friends of Devo’s Robert “Bob 2” Casale — who died unexpectedly two weeks ago from heart failure — are trying to raise $100,000 to support the late musician’s wife and children, with Casale’s brother and bandmate, Gerald Casale, noting that the 61-year-old “had no will or insurance” at the time of his death.

Devo fans are mourning another loss this morning with news that, less than eight months after the death of beloved drummer Alan Myers, one of the band’s original members, Bob “Bob 2” Casale, has died unexpectedly from “conditions that lead to heart failure,” the band announced on Facebook today.

Alan Myers, the third and most well-known of Devo’s drummers, who played on the classic albums Q: Are We Not Men? A: We Are Devo!, Duty Now for the Future, Freedom of Choice and beyond, died this week, according to Ralph Carney, a jazz musician and friend of Myers’, and current Devo drummer Josh Freese.
