Devo will be subject of a new authorized documentary that the filmmakers hope to have complete by this fall in order to submit it to next year’s Sundance festival. The doc, ‘Are We Not Men? The Devo Documentary,’ is currently in post-production, but director Tony Pemberton is still trying to raise money to complete the project.

New wave legends Blondie and Devo will team up for a run of U.S. dates this September, four of which — two concerts in Washington state and two in California — already have been announced. Outside of those dates, however, it’s not yet clear how extensive the Blondie-topped joint tour will be.

This year’s installment of Record Store Day will feature releases in the U.S. and/or U.K. from The Cure, Public Image Ltd., Morrissey, Kate Bush, The Wedding Present, Simple Minds, The Fall, The Clash, David Bowie, The Sex Pistols, Ryan Adams covering Bob Mould, The Cult, Devo, Dinosaur Jr and more.

Warner Bros. sent out a press release yesterday rounding up potential gift-guide items for upcoming back-to-school, Halloween and even Christmas coverage — and topping the list was none other than an ‘official Devo yellow suit’ and the band’s signature ‘energy dome’ hats in both blue and red.

While neither band has formally announced the trek, The Psychedelic Furs — hot off this summer’s 30th anniversary ‘Talk Talk Talk’ dates — have enlisted New Wave contemporaries Tom Tom Club for what appears to be at least a three-week tour of the United States this fall.

The members of Devo today rescheduled a trio of California concerts that were canceled last month after guitarist Bob Mothersbaugh sliced his right thumb ‘to the bone’ on a shard of glass, severing a tendon and requiring emergency surgery.
