The playlist from Sunday’s “Dark Wave” — the weekly Sunday night ‘darker side of alternative’ show on Sirius XM’s 1st Wave — features tracks by Nick Cave & The Bad Seeds, Tones on Tail, Propaganda, Human League, Chris Connelly and many more.

The second and final release by Dalis Car — recorded by Peter Murphy and a dying Mick Karn last fall — will be a five-track EP titled ‘InGladAloneness’ and out as early as next month.

The surviving members of Throbbing Gristle have relaunched their Industrial Records imprint in order to reissue the bulk of their late-’70s/early-’80s catalog and release the band’s final studio album: a long-in-the-works re-interpretation of Nico’s 1970 record ‘Desertshore.’

Just two new releases on the radar this week: The Sisters of Mercy’s ‘First and Last and Always’ is reissued by Mobile Fidelity on audiophile vinyl, and The Icicle Works’ ‘Blind’ is reissued in a 3CD set by Cherry Red.

Today we mark the 56th birthday of punk legend Mick Jones — leader of the newly reactivated Big Audio Dynamite — with a look back at that other band he was in, with a full 1980 concert by The Clash. Watch it here.

Although they’d hinted they had something special up their sleeves for their debut slot at the venerable Glastonbury festival, U2 instead played what was mostly a truncated and rearranged version of their current 360° Tour set last night. See it here in HD.

Greeting the crowd with ‘Hello Glasto… fancy seeing me here,’ Morrissey took to the main stage at Glastonbury tonight to perform a 16-song set that mixed songs old and brand-new, with a generous heaping of classics from The Smiths thrown in.
