The debut album from techno duo VCMG — aka former Depeche Mode bandmates Vince Clarke and Martin L. Gore, working together again for the first time in 30 years — has been out a couple weeks now, but Mute Records is just now debuting an odd 70-second trailer for the 10-track ‘Ssss.’

This week’s installment of Slicing Up Eyeballs on Strangeways Radio featured new music from Killing Joke, Depeche Mode’s Dave Gahan, The Cult and Mission of Burma, plus old favorites from Love and Rockets, XTC, Wall of Voodoo, Rank and File, Oingo Boingo and Sugar. Oh, and Nancy Sinatra, too.

Dreams So Real — featured in the landmark rock doc ‘Athens, GA: Inside/Out’ and whose debut single and album were produced by R.E.M.’s Peter Buck — are reuniting for a pair of rare concerts next month, and are whetting fans’ appetites by streaming a previously unreleased early-’90s demo.

The release of The Cult’s first new album in five years is still two months away, but the band this week gave fans a second taste of the record in the guise of ‘For the Animals,’ the first official single from the 10-track ‘Choice of Weapon.’ You can stream the full track here.

The original lineup of Killing Joke — Jaz Coleman, Kevin “Geordie” Walker, Martin “Youth” Glover and Paul Ferguson — next week will release the band’s 15th studio album, ‘MMXII,’ and are preceding it with a new music video for the record’s first official single, ‘In Cythera.’

Boston post-punk masters Mission of Burma this summer will release ‘Unsound,’ their fourth post-reunion album (that’s three more records than they put out during their original run in the ’80s), and this week premiered the first track from that effort, called ‘Dust Devil.’

This year’s installment of Record Store Day will feature releases in the U.S. and/or U.K. from The Cure, Public Image Ltd., Morrissey, Kate Bush, The Wedding Present, Simple Minds, The Fall, The Clash, David Bowie, The Sex Pistols, Ryan Adams covering Bob Mould, The Cult, Devo, Dinosaur Jr and more.
