Boston post-punk masters Mission of Burma this summer will release ‘Unsound,’ their fourth post-reunion album (that’s three more records than they put out during their original run in the ’80s), and this week premiered the first track from that effort, called ‘Dust Devil.’

This year’s installment of Record Store Day will feature releases in the U.S. and/or U.K. from The Cure, Public Image Ltd., Morrissey, Kate Bush, The Wedding Present, Simple Minds, The Fall, The Clash, David Bowie, The Sex Pistols, Ryan Adams covering Bob Mould, The Cult, Devo, Dinosaur Jr and more.

Having toured sporadically and released a new best-of, the reunited Soundgarden has now hit the recording studio, and today debuted 22 whole seconds of its first new song in 15 years: ‘Live to Rise,’ a sludgy rocker that will feature in this summer’s comic book blockbuster ‘The Avengers.’

Last month we brought you a stream of Belle and Sebastian’s somewhat languid cover of The Primitives’ jangle-pop classic ‘Crash,’ recorded for the Scottish band’s ‘Late Night Tales’ mix CD — and now comes the music video, featuring animated, Lego-like reproductions of B&S.

This week’s new releases include individual reissues of each album in The Smiths’ catalog, plus MInistry’s first new album in five years (‘Relapse’), the U.K. release of Grinderman’s new remix album (‘Grinderman 2 RMX’) and the U.S. release of Paul Weller’s just-released solo album ‘Sonik Kicks.’

The playlist from tonight’s edition of ‘Dark Wave’ — the weekly ‘darker side of alternative’ show on Sirius XM’s 1st Wave — featured Kraftwerk, T.S.O.L., Tubeway Army, Stan Ridgway, The Teardrop Explodes, The Motels, Japan, The House of Love and much more.

New Order performed its first U.S. concert in seven years Friday night at Miami’s Ultra Music Festival — but that won’t be the band’s only American appearance this year. The band says: ‘It’s great to back in the U.S., and we will be back for more shows later in the year when we have fulfilled our other live commitments around the world.’
