On May 5, Wayne Hussey, frontman of The Mission, will release a 2DVD/1CD set Songs of Candlelight & Razorblades Live that chronicles his tour last year in support of his latest solo effort, and he’s teasing the upcoming project with a live stream of one of its tracks: a live cover of George Michael’s “Careless Whisper.”

Echo & The Bunnymen will return to the U.S. this summer, with the band this week announcing what it termed a “tour of America” that consists of four shows in California this August. It is not clear, via the band’s announcement on Facebook or elsewhere, whether the Bunnymen plan to add more dates to the trek.

This week’s new releases include reissue of The Specials’ three albums — 1979′s The Specials, 1980′s More Specials and 1984′s In the Studio, the latter of which was released under the band’s original name, The Special AKA — as well as a new record from German synthpop outfit Camouflage.

Tonight’s edition of “Dark Wave” on Sirius XM’s 1st Wave featured music by Joy Division, Lowlife, Tubeway Army, The Birthday Party, This Mortal Coil, Rosetta Stone, Christian Death, Revolting Cocks, Clan of Xymox, Mission of Burma, The Sound, Nitzer Ebb, Echo & The Bunnymen, Pailhead, TSOL and more.

Well, here’s a fun one: The Dead Milkmen today shared a radio promo they recorded in 1985 for the University of Pennsylvania’s WXPN radio station, a re-write of “Bitchin’ Camaro” that announces the show “Yesterday’s Now Music Today” is moving from Sunday nights to weekday afternoon. On the eve of the Record Store Day release of a new Wax Trax! Records box set, the Lethal Amounts Gallery in Los Angeles will celebrate Ministry mastermind Al Jourgensen and his labelmates on the highly influential Chicago imprint via a new photo exhibit called “Without Sympathy: The Visceral Journey of Al Jourgensen.”

Johnny Marr this week made it official, formally announcing his long-discussed plans to pen a memoir, saying the book will be published in fall 2016 — three years after bandmate Morrissey’s much-buzzed “Autobiography.” No title has been announced for Marr’s book, but it will be published by Century.
