Watch: Jack Lowden is Morrissey in first trailer for upcoming ‘England is Mine’ biopic

The world got its first glimpse today of the much-anticipated Morrissey biopic “England Is Mine” after the release of the trailer for the film that stars Jack Lowden as the young Steven Patrick Morrissey in the lead-up to the formation of The Smiths. The film, directed by Mark Gill, is set to be released in the U.K. on Aug. 4.

The Waterboys announce hip-hop influenced double album ‘Out Of All This Blue’

The Waterboys today formally announced the release of the band’s new double record, a 23-song collection called Out Of All This Blue that’s due out Sept. 8 and features “echoes of classic R&B, country, soul and funk … underpinned by modern hip-hop production values and rhythms.” See full tracklist here.

Vintage Video: Watch The Cure’s rare, out-of-print 1984 concert film ‘Live in Japan’

For this week’s installment of Vintage Video, we’ll revisit a rarity we first shared about four years ago: The Cure’s lost relic of The Top era, a 90-minute concert film called “Live in Japan” that  documents the band’s Oct. 17, 1984, performance in Tokyo — and which was released the following year on VHS and Betamax in Japan only.
