The Pixies this week announced plans to release a new studio album in September, a 12-track record called Beneath the Eyrie that is the band’s third post-reunion, post-Kim Deal effort and seventh full-length overall. The first single, “On Graveyard Hill,” is streaming right here.
The veteran U.K. post-punk act The Membranes next week return with their second post-reunion album, the ambitious What Nature Gives… Nature Takes Away, and Slicing Up Eyeballs is thrilled to premiere the second single off that LP, “Black is the Colour.” Check out the track right here.

New Order this summer will release an 18-song live album recorded during the band’s celebrated five-night run of performances — backed by a 12-piece synthesizer orchestra — at the Manchester International Festival in the summer of 2017. The B-52s this summer will release an expanded 30th anniversary reissue of their fifth album Cosmic Thing, the record that served as a comeback following the death of guitarist Ricky Wilson and catapulted the Athens, Ga., party band into orbit with hit single “Love Shack.” Check out the full tracklist here.
Depeche Mode will continue its series of vinyl box set reissue with the release next month of Black Celebration: The 12″ Singles and Music For The Masses: The 12″ Singles, a pair of multi-disc collections featuring the original UK 12-inch singles that accompanied each album. Mike Scott returns with a new album by The Waterboys this May, a 10-song collection entitled Where the Action Is — the title is inspired by the chorus to Robert Parker’s northern soul classic “Let’s Go Baby” — that follows up the band’s hip-hop inspired double album Out Of All This Blue.
