Reunited Paisley Underground-era rockers The Dream Syndicate this spring will release their third album of the new century, a collection of new songs called The Universe Inside that’s only five tracks long but clocks in at nearly an hour, thanks in part to 20-minute opening jam “The Regulator” — which you can hear in its entirety right here.

In the wake of founder Andy Gill’s death, post-punk legends Gang of Four this week announced plans to release a new EP later this month of music he’d been working on — three re-recordings of the band’s material that will be accompanied by a pair of spoken-worked interludes from Gill. Reunited Scottish indie-pop favorites Close Lobsters — immortalized on the NME’s genre-defining C86 compilation cassette — next week will release their first new album in 31 years, a 10-song collection that’s preceded by the release of two tracks: “Godless” and “All Compasses Go Wild.”

The 4AD label next month will release remastered editions of the Cocteau Twins’ first and fourth studio albums — 1982’s Garlands and 1986’s Victorialand — on 140-gram black vinyl, completing the effort to put all of the band’s studio albums back in print on vinyl. Details right here.

After teasing big news for the past few days, The Psychedelic Furs have announced they’ll at long last release their eighth studio album — the band’s first record in 29 years — this spring. The 12-track collection is preceded by the single “Don’t Believe,” which you can hear right now.

Simple Minds continues its deluxe reissue series this March with an expanded, multi-format re-release of its 1989 studio album Street Fighting Years, including a 4-disc CD box set that includes B-sides and remixes, plua a live album recorded in Verona, Italy. Full tracklist right here.
