The Pet Shop Boys will release their 14th studio album in January, a 10-song collection called Hotspot that will include the recently released dance track “Dreamland” — featuring Olly Alexander of the UK synthpop outfit Years & Years — as well as the new single “Burning the Heather,” which includes an assist from Bernard Butler.

Erasure will reissue their fifth studio album, 1991’s Chorus, in an expanded three-disc edition on Valentine’s Day, supplementing a remastered version of the original with two discs of new and classic remixes, B-sides, bonus tracks and a full live version of the album. epeche Mode next month will release a massive, 18-disc CD box set simply called MODE that will collect all 14 of the band’s studio albums and include four more discs of B-sides, remixes and rarities, a set billed as “a comprehensive collection of the band’s work to date.” Full details and tracklist here.

Nick Cave used his fan Q&A newsletter “The Red Hand Files” to announce this morning the release next week of a new Bad Seeds record, a double album called Ghosteen that will include eight songs on Part 1 and a two “long songs” linked by a spoken-word piece on Part 2. R.E.M. will celebrate the 25th anniversary of its grunge-era return-to-rock Monster this fall with a 6-disc box set that will include previously unheard demos, an unreleased live concert, the “Road Movie” film and a newly remixed version of the album by original producer Scott Litt.
