Since announcing their reunion, The Stone Roses have booked dates across Europe and into the Far East, yet no official mention has been made of North American concerts. According to a fan at this weekend’s Barcelona tour kickoff, though, John Squire confirmed the Roses will play the U.S. ‘next year.’

The Stone Roses — Ian Brown, John Squire, Gary “Mani” Mounfield and Alan “Reni” Wren — opened their first tour since 1996 with a pair of full-length concerts Friday and Saturday night at Club Razzmatazz in Barcelona, Spain. Last night, Jane’s Addiction frontman Perry Farrell may have revealed the Pixies are in the studio, replaying to a tweet from @leCultVult — ‘@perryfarrell back in the day the cool kids at my high school it was all about Jane’s Addiction and the Pixies’ — by writing, ‘Still is Pixies r recording.’

John Lydon’s reactivated Public Image Ltd. is planning a North American tour later this year, the group announced on its website today. No details have been released about the trek, which comes more than two years after PiL’s post-Coachella tour of North America in the spring of 2010.
