Just a day after wrapping up an extensive fall tour of the U.S. that included a string of dates with The Lemonheads, The Psychedelic Furs today unveiled a short run of West Coast dates that include a New Year’s Eve show in Anaheim, Calif., and a New Year’s Day concert in Las Vegas.

Karl Wallinger will bring World Party back to the U.S. for the third time this year — following a string of in-stores and radio performances this past spring and a handful of dates in the eastern U.S. in September — to perform a short run of eight concerts along the West Coast and in Arizona, New Mexico and Colorado.
This week’s new releases include new best-ofs from Midnight Oil and Frankie Goes to Hollywood, a collection of covers from Propaganda’s Claudia Brücken, a re-recording of Fear’s debut album (‘The Fear Record’) and an audiophile vinyl reissue of The Sisters of Mercy’s ‘Floodland.’
Tonight’s edition of “Dark Wave” — the Sunday night “darker side of alternative” show on Sirius XM’s 1st Wave — featured Camouflage, Visage, Lard, The Sisters of Mercy, Nitzer Ebb, Fields of the Nephilim, The Jesus and Mary Chain, Legendary Pink Dots, Ian McCulloch, Alien Sex Fiend and much, much more.
Dave Gahan soon will have a new Depeche Mode album to promote, but first he’s trying his hand at selling Volkswagens: The frontman appears, fairly briefly, in a new French commercial for the VW Golf that is soundtracked by a couple cover versions of the DM staple “People Are People” as well as the original recording.
