Nick Cave & The Bad Seeds had already debuted a lyric video for the second track off their upcoming 15th studio album, a nearly 7-minute slow burn called “Jubilee Street,” but now comes the prostitution-themed video for the song — a NSFW clip that was actually blocked by YouTube on content grounds for a period of time this morning.
Butthole Surfers frontman Gibby Haynes next week will release a 7-inch single via Jack White’s Third Man Records, the label announced today, unveiling the three-song record that features two originals and a cover of Adrenalin OD’s “Paul’s Not Home” off the 1982 New York Thrash compilation.
Orchestral Manoeuvres in the Dark this morning debuted a second teaser video from its upcoming album English Electric. the second of three animated clips from Henning M. Lederer. The video for “Atomic Ranch” premiered today via Pitchfork TV, and comes in advance of the April 9 release of OMD’s new album.
This week’s new releases include the long-awaited new album from My Bloody Valentine, the new Depeche Mode single, a 10-disc Roxy Music box set, vinyl reissues of Bauhaus’ first two albums, a new studio effort from Chris Stamey of The dB’s, a collection of Bjork remixes and Julian Cope’s reissue of ‘St. Julian.’
Tonight’s edition of “Dark Wave” — the Sunday night “darker side of alternative” show on Sirius XM’s 1st Wave — featured brand-new Depeche Mode, plus The Sisters of Mercy, The Glove, Nitzer Ebb, The Rose of Avalanche, Gary Numan, Ministry, Love and Rockets, Tackhead and much more.
