Dark Wave Playlists — October 18, 2026 at 11:00 pm

Playlist: Sirius XM’s “Dark Wave” — hosted by Matt Sebastian (10/18/26)

Propaganda

“Dark Wave,” hosted by Slicing Up Eyeballs’ Matt Sebastian, explores the darker side of classic ’80s alternative, including vintage goth, post-punk and industrial. The show airs at 10 p.m. to 1 a.m. Eastern every Sunday on Sirius XM’s 1st Wave (Channel 33).

The most recent two episodes are available to subscribers to stream via the Sirius XM app.

Got a request? Requests will be considered for future episodes, but there’s no guarantee they’ll be played. They must fit the show’s format and fall generally within the 1st Wave era. And not be something the host really dislikes. If there’s something you’d like to hear, drop it in the comments below.

  1. Hi Matt –

Requesting “Shape Draw Back” from Swamp Terrorists.

    Thanks,

    Dave W.
    Long Branch, NJ

  2. Song request
    Rational by King Cobb Steelie

  3. How about Ultravox – Rage in Eden, or Human League – Being Boiled

  4. Great show tonight! See you next week!

  5. Requests:
Sisters of Mercy – Black Planet
The Birthday Party – Release the Bats
    Throwing Muses – Dragonhead
Clan of Xymox – A Day

  6. Excellent show once again, especially enjoyed the slightly deeper cuts from the “usual suspects” (The The, Joy Division & KMFDM) and the stuff I only sort of knew, or didn’t know at all (Parade Ground, CCP and Last Man in Europe). And thanks for playing my Hilt request, and no, Nancy still didn’t like it :)

Just one request for the future this time. Test Dept is releasing an expanded remaster of one of their best albums (Gododdin) in December, but there’s already a single out from that, so I’m requesting that:

Test Dept & Brith Gof – PROLOGUE (Early Studio Sessions, Reworked 2026)

    • It’s true I don’t love Hilt (I think it’s the singer, not the music) but I still loved the show overall! Thanks for the requests that got played!

  7. Cocteau Twins – Blood Bitch

  8. For future shows:

    1. Dear Heart – Cocteau Twins
    2. My Love Life – Morrissey
    3. I Remember Nothing – Joy Division
    4. Burning Bridge – Kate Bush
    5. Sister Midnight – Iggy Pop
    6. Sorry For Laughing – Propaganda
    7. Blue Hotel – Lene Lovich
    8. Visions In Blue – Ultravox
    9. Showroom Dummies – Kraftwerk
    10. See Those Eyes – Altered Images
    11. When I Was Young – Danielle Dax
    12. Smack Jack – Nina Hagen
    13. Same Old Scene – Roxy Music
    14. A Matter of Time – Berlin (with Terri Nunn off the “Best of Berlin” compilation)
    15. Tora! Tora! Tora! – Depeche Mode
    16. Gloria – Patti Smith

  9. I also think Halo is the best song from Violator!

For requests, would you play The Draize Train by The Smiths?

And for the Halloween show, how about I Was A Teenage Werewolf by The Cramps?

    Thanks Matt!

  10. Kitchens of Distinction – Cowboys and Aliens

  11. Excellent show from start to finish. I agree with Mikko about some of the deep cuts from the usual stalwarts – all excellent, including the Gary Numan, Bad Seeds, and Cure tracks. Thanks for playing my Parade Ground request, nothing like a little Belgian cold wave. There is not a weak track on Violator but you are correct sir about Halo. Can’t wait for the Halloween spectacular!

Request for a future communion: “The Classical” by The Fall or a dealer’s choice selection from Hex Enduction Hour.

Have a great week Matt, cheers!

  12. Nothing like the Sunday night service, worshipping at the altar of Dark Wave.
I’m lighting a black candle for Laughing Song by the Residents.

    Your supplicant.

  13. hi Matt ! always solid playlist stuff each week after week you deliver for our pleasure. A couple of suggestion for the future : Grauzone (Schlachtet!) or Boytronic (you). have a good week !

    • Oooh, I’ll second the Grauzone request! I’ve been revisiting a lot of NDW bands but had forgotten about them, good choice!

  14. Howdy Matt – OK the first hour of this week’s program was pure fire! I love that Church song, plus Gary Numan, Japan, Concrete Blonde – hot damn!!! Thank you for playing my Theatre Of Hate request…I hadn’t heard it in ages!! I also agree there isn’t a bad song on Violator….much like Black Celebration. Some possible suggestions for next time:

Pink Turns Blue – Your Master Is Calling
The Lords Of The New Church – Do What Thou Wilt
Machines Of Living Grace – Butterfly Wings

Thanks again as always!!! Stay awesome!! 。◕‿◕。

  15. Nice show! I always like the evenings with a good mix of things I know (lots this week) but enough new things to keep me interested – several deep dive tracks by familiar artists this time, plus a few I truly hadn’t ever heard.

For a future show, a few suggestions – I’m kind of amazed you’ve never played Malaria’s best-known track but the others are excellent too:

    1. Malaria! – Kaltes Klares Wasser
    2. KaS Product – Tina Town
    3. Abwärts – Masochist

  16. Dark Day – No,Nothing,Never

  17. Matt, sensationally Dark Stuff as always,a lot to love about these 3 hours, much thanx. As you can guess some nasty bits to love as well I’ll include for your discretion.Do yourself a favor……as good old Johnny Lydon would say & All The Best to you Dark friend.
    KNIFELADDER-Head Of The Serpent
    FRONT 242-Moldavia
    D.I.-Richard Hung Himself
    M.

  18. Last night I dreamt that somebody loved me – The Smiths

    Thank you

  19. Erick Haight

    Hiya!

Requesting anything from the first two albums by the Comsat Angels:

    “Independence Day” (1980 Version)
    “Waiting For A Miracle”
    “Home Is The Range”
    “Be Brave”
    “Gone”
    “Dark Parade”
    “Eye Of The Lens”

…and so on. ;) Thanks for all you do!

  20. Rocking three hours!

Here’s a request – The Gun Club – Carry Home

    Thanks!

  21. I thank you kindly for “Halo” by Depeche Mode!

And for any and all tracks by Meat Beat Manifesto and The The!

  22. Another favorite episode. I am so glad you played “Barbarism Begins at Home,” I agree one of the best bass lines of all time. I also agree with Susan’s thanks for any and all tracks by Meat Beat (did they really sample Prince?) and The The. I recently got Subliminal Sandwich on vinyl and it is much better than I remembered. Also loved the Split remix. I actually saw KMFDM play in Tijuana in the 90’s. If I remember correctly, they were pretty sloppy that night. Or maybe that was me?

    As always, thank you!

  23. Since you have been playing German industrial, isn’t it time to break out the Rammstein? Engel off of Sehnsucht would make my year.

  24. I am not sure if it is too late to make a request for the Halloween episode, but I have one if possible. No doubt you are already obligated to play the compulsory classic, Every Day Is Halloween. Could we hear the Squirrely Years version? Or maybe on a later show.

  25. Killing Joke “Tabazan”

  26. Seeing Shriekback’s “The Big Hush” late in hour three is a useful reminder that a Halloween set can end on atmosphere rather than another novelty-song peak. For a small gathering, I’d let guests nominate a closing track as well as a dance-floor choice. I’m Hendrik, maker of Link Tapes, where I’m exploring that party format. The show’s own format and request rules should still determine anything suggested here.

  27. Prick “Makebeileve”
    Rowland S Howard “Autoluminecent”
    Thanks Matt
