Playlist: Sirius XM’s “Dark Wave” — hosted by Slicing Up Eyeballs (3/29/26)

Strawberry Switchblade

“Dark Wave,” hosted by Slicing Up Eyeballs’ Matt Sebastian, explores the darker side of classic ’80s alternative, including vintage goth, post-punk and industrial. The shows airs at 10 p.m. to 1 a.m. Eastern every Sunday on Sirius XM satellite radio’s 1st Wave (Channel 33).

The most recent two episodes are also available to subscribers to stream via the Sirius XM app.

Got a request? Requests will be considered for future episodes as long as they fit the show’s format and fall generally within the 1st Wave era — and provided the host doesn’t harbor an intense dislike of the song. If there’s something you’d like to hear, drop it in the comments below.

  3. Great show tonight, Matt. In the future would you please play “N’yet N’yet, Soviet” by B.B. Gabor — a punky number from Canada back in the day. Incidentally, the “Soviet jewellery” B.B. sings about apparently refers to handcuffs. Thanks. Tom

  4. Great show tonight! “Halo” is such a slept on Depeche Mode track; that chorus fits late night drives and questionable romantic decision making perfectly.

How about “Hybrid Moments” by The Misfits the next time DW dips into punk territory?

Sounded like allergies were putting the boots to you tonight, brother; hope you feel better soon, if I’m right…

Best to all reading this in the week ahead!

  5. On April 18th, a Rozz Williams documentary will be released. Many of the musicians he worked with over the years will be performing his various works that evening in LA. In honor of that, would you please play something from the late Mr. Williams? Your choice of songs. Thanks
