Australian rock powerhouse Midnight Oil is expected to announce details on Friday of its promised reunion tour, shows that would mark the band’s first performances together since 2009’s Sound Relief concerts to benefit the victims of that year’s bushfires. It’s not clear what the band has planned, but it’s promising “a busy year ahead.”

Legendary post-punk act Wire will open its 40th anniversary celebrations this year with the release of the band’s 15th studio album, Silver/Lead, which is preceded by the single “Short Elevated Period” — and you can stream that track here.

Former Hüsker Dü frontman Bob Mould is expanding a planned solo-electric outing from two previously announced New York City dates to a total of at least 10 shows, with seven new performances set for Denver, St. Paul, Minn., Chicago, Toronto, Cleveland and Austin, Texas, in April.
