This week’s Slicing Up Eyeballs Music Hour on Strangeways Radio featured new music by Black Flag, Mark Mulcahy and British Electric Foundation, plus songs by Renegade Soundwave, Nick Cave, The Chameleons and The Smiths, and a tribute to Ray Manzarek of The Doors.

The Clash return to record stores in a big way this September, with the release of a 12-disc box set called Sound System — featuring five of the band’s six albums, a DVD with unseen footage and three discs’ worth of demos, non-album singles, rarities and B-sides — as well as a new double-disc best-of set.

Because it’s increasingly true that you can indeed find anything on the Internet, here’s a brand-new way for Morrissey fans to kill an hour: by listening to a robot recite the former Smiths frontman’s full Wikipedia entry out loud for a full 59 minutes and 54 seconds.

To help promote his just-announced North American tour on which he’ll perform New Order’s first two albums — 1981′s Movement and 1983′s Power, Corruptions & Lies — Peter Hook is making available as a free download a live recording of that band’s third single, “Everything’s Gone Green,” recorded in Manchester.

Sad Lovers & Giants — who’ve earned a strong cult following despite having broken up and re-formed multiple times since debuting in the early ’80s — are in the studio recording what could be their first album in more than a decade, with enough songs currently in the works to comprise “70 percent of an album.”

Filmmakers Michael Santorelli and Laurel Harris recently launched a Kickstarter campaign seeking to raise $50,000 to help fund their documentary “Get Off This: A Film About Music and Perseverance,” which aims to document the life and music of David Lowery, frontman of Camper Van Beethoven and Cracker.
