A sparse, early demo of the Talking Heads’ single “Wild Wild Life” surfaced online over the weekend, offering fans a glimpse at the origins of the track, which was recorded during the band’s simultaneous for 1985’s Little Creatures and 1986’s True Stories, and became the breakout hit from the latter album — thanks in large part to the ubiquity of its John Goodman-starring, karaoke-themed video lifted from David Byrne’s quirky “True Stories” film.
Below, you can stream the “Wild Wild Life” demo (via talking-heads.nl) — and check out original video, too.
