With his autobiography “See A Little Light: The Trail of Rage and Melody” finally due out next month, Bob Mould is gearing up for a busy summer that will include a words-and-music book tour, dates with his Blowoff DJ side project, an opening slot at two giant Foo Fighters shows in the U.K. and the reissue of Sugar’s classic debut Copper Blue on audiophile vinyl.
Co-written by Michael Azerrad, author of “Our Band Could be Your Life: Scenes From the American Indie Underground, 1981-1991,” the 288-page “See A Little Light” is due to be published June 15 by Little, Brown and Company. Mould will spend part of June and July promoting the book with a series of seven readings, about half of which also will include solo-acoustic performances (see all dates below).
Interspersed with those dates, the ex-Hüsker Dü frontman — who’s also performing at this weekend’s Sasquatch! Music Festival at the Gorge Amphitheatre in Washington — will perform DJ sets with Richard Morel under their Blowoff banner. Plus, Mould will open a pair of Foo Fighters dates in July at the 65,000-capacity Milton Keynes Bowl.
Finally, on June 21, Rykodisc will reissue Sugar’s beloved 1992 debut Copper Blue on 180-gram audiophile vinyl with new liner notes penned by Mould, bandmate David Barbe and members of Interpol and Death Cab for Cutie.
