Reformed jangle-pop act The Primitives are extending their current reunion with a string of just-announced festival appearances in Europe and their native U.K. this summer — and are hinting at a return to the U.S. this fall following a successful New York City gig earlier this month.
After playing their first shows in 17 years last fall and mounting a full U.K. tour in April, Tracy Tracy and the Primitives have announced a headlining date at Paris’ La Machine du Moulin Rouge on June 30, plus festival appearances at the Godiva Festival in Coventry, England, on July 3, the Contempopranea Festival in Badajoz, Spain, on July 23 and the Indietracks Festival in Derby, England, on July 24.
Furthermore, after returning from its lone U.S. concert a few weeks ago, the group posted on its Facebook page: “Hopefully we will be back in the fall.”
Still, the Primitives continue to indicate that their reunion will be short-lived; in an interview promoting the New York concert, guitarist and songwriter Paul Court told Spinner.com that the band’s tour is all about “nostalgia” and is “not a full-scale reunion.”
