It’s that time again: Beck’s back with track 6 — “The Loved One” — in his Record Club’s full-album cover of INXS’ 1987 hit Kick. A cover of a song by ’60s Australian group The Loved Ones, the cut was a favorite of INXS’ — the band released it as its third single in 1981 and re-recorded it for Kick. Beck tackles this one seemingly alone — his Record Club cohorts St. Vincent, Liars and Os Mutantes aren’t seen in this clip — and delivers a bluesy, acoustic take complete with slide guitar and tambourine fills.
