With their first new album in five years, ‘Choice of Weapon,’ coming out in May, The Cult this morning announced a five-date arena tour of the U.K. this September that’ll see the rockers enlisting a pair of freshly reunited contemporaries — The Mission and Killing Joke — to fill out the bill.

Wayne Hussey will extend the 25th anniversary celebration of The Mission — featuring a reunited lineup of original members Simon Hinkler and Craig Adams, plus new drummer Mike Kelly — by taking the band to Latin America late this spring and performing at least one European festival date this summer.

This week’s new releases include a new HD, career-spanning box set from This Mortal Coil, plus new albums from The Mission’s Wayne Hussey and former Ministry member Chris Connelly, plus a new Brian Eno EP.

Mission frontman Wayne Hussey this fall will release an album with All About Eve lead singer Julianne Regan featuring ‘strange and interesting interpretations of already loved songs alongside new songs’ — including covers of Depeche Mode, Duran Duran and David Bowie.

The Mission have extended their 25th anniversary reunion beyond a single London concert to now include a second newly announced U.K. date plus 10 European concerts in October and November.
