As 2011 quickly winds to an end, we’re happy to roll out our fourth and final days’ worth of results from our second-annual Slicing Up Eyeballs Readers Poll, in which nearly 500 of you cast ballots for your favorite music of the year. Today, we bring you the big one: The best albums of 2011.

This week’s new releases include new, live and reissued albums, singles and EPs from the likes of Peter Murphy, Bjork, Peter Gabriel, Kate Bush, the Pixies’ Black Francis, The B-52s, Erasure and Talk Talk.

This week’s new releases include brand-new albums from Erasure (‘Tomorrow’s World’) and Pop Will Eat Itself (‘New Noise Designed by a Sadist’), plus vinyl reissues of Dinosaur Jr’s first three albums, the U.K. vinyl-only and CD-and-vinyl editions of The Smiths’ ‘Complete’ box set and the final two Jesus and Mary Chain reissues.

With the less than a week to go before the release of their 14th album, Erasure are letting fans listen to ‘Tomorrow’s World’ in its entirety via a stream posted Tuesday by The Guardian. The full album arrives Oct. 3 in the U.K. and Oct. 4 in the U.S.

With their U.S. tour now underway, Erasure last week released a video for new single ‘When I Start To (Break It All Down)’ that features a montage of footage filmed over its summer tour dates around the world.

Synthpop faves Erasure this morning debuted the first single, ‘When I Start To (Break It All Down),’ off their upcoming album ‘Tomorrow’s World’ on BBC Radio 2, and now have made the 3:34-long track available for streaming on their website. The single will be released digitally Aug. 29 and on CD on Sept. 26.
