The Raincoats — who, like The Vaselines, enjoyed a ’90s career renaissance thanks to Kurt Cobain’s fandom — will follow up their appearance at the Jeff Mangum-curated All Tomorrow’s Parties festival in the U.K. with an appearance at the 35 Denton festival in Texas and a short run of West Coast dates.

With its massive 20th anniversary reissue approaching in September, Nirvana’s landmark 1991 album ‘Nevermind’ receives a track-by-track remake courtesy of Spin, which is offering a free download of the project via the magazine’s Facebook page.

This week’s episode of the Chicago-based syndicated radio show ‘Sound Opinions’ features an interview with and performance by the reunited Scottish indie-pop outfit The Vaselines, which the show’s producers are teasing with video of three live-in-the-studio performances.

The Vaselines made their American TV debut last night, playing the title track to their new album, ‘Sex With an X,’ on ‘Late Night With Jimmy Fallon,’ as well as a web-only performance of ‘Jesus Wants Me for a Sunbeam,’ the song made famous by Nirvana’s ‘MTV Unplugged in New York’ cover version.
