This week’s new releases include box sets devoted to Tears For Fears and Waterboys albums, plus a new Morrissey concert film, a reissue of Billy Bragg’s debut, a box set collecting six Boomtown Rats albums, an audiophile CD pressing from the Pixies and live sets from The Mission and The Wedding Present.

Tears For Fears continue to whet fans’ appetites for their upcoming 30th anniversary deluxe box set dedicated to landmark debut album The Hurting, this time posting online the band’s previously unreleased, four-song session recorded for the legendary BBC radio DJ John Peel on Sept. 1, 1982.

Tears For Fears this week teased their upcoming 30th anniversary box set dedicated to landmark debut album The Hurting by sharing one of the tracks that will appear on the four-disc set: the original 12-inch mix of “Pale Shelter,” which the band notes “was a hit in NY clubs and the UK dance charts.”

This week’s new releases include the first Suburbs album in 27 years, the U.S. release of Ministry’s new live album, a new best-of from Tears For Fears, a super-limited pressing of The Godfathers’ reunion album ‘Jukebox Fury’ on red vinyl, and a collection of rarities from ska act Bad Manners.

Tears For Fears have reconvened in the studio this summer to record a follow-up to 2004’s Everybody Loves a Happy Ending, and while that’s expected to keep Roland Orzabal and Curt Smith busy for the next few months, they did treat fans today to some new music: a cover of The Arcade Fire’s “Ready to Start.”

Tears For Fears’ landmark debut album The Hurting is due for a 30th anniversary reissue later this year, and now comes the details: The deluxe four-disc box set will include the original album, a disc of remixes and B-sides, a collection of BBC radio sessions and the long-out-of-print “In My Mind’s Eye” concert film on DVD.
