Soundgarden will celebrate the 20th anniversary of its blockbuster album Superunknown this year with an ambitious reissue project that begins on Record Store Day with a collection of five limited-edition 10-inch singles, this is followed in June by 2CD and 2LP reissues, plus a monster 5CD “super deluxe edition.”

The two-weekend Sasquatch! Music Festival — set for Memorial Day and Fourth of July weekends outside of Seattle — will feature performances by New Order, Kraftwerk, Soundgarden, Bob Mould, Violent Femmes alongside the likes of OutKast, The National, Queens of the Stone Age and many, many more.

This week’s new releases include new Beggars Archive ‘5 Albums’ box sets from Bauhaus, Fields of the Nephilim and Gene Loves Jezebel, plus reissues of Peter Murphy’s ‘Love Hysteria’ and Soundgarden’s ‘Screaming Life’ and ‘Fopp’ EPs, plus a vinyl box set of The Jam albums and a CD box of Simple Minds records.
