John Lydon hopes to use the proceeds from Public Image Ltd.’s upcoming U.S. tour to fund the recording of the reconstituted band’s first new album since 1992’s ‘That What Is Not.’

While this week’s installment of ‘Dark Wave’ on Sirius XM featured a host of all-too-usual suspects (The Cure’s ‘Other Voices,’ Public Image Ltd.’s ‘Rise,’ The Sisters of Mercy’s ‘Lucretia, My Reflection’), there were, as always, some pleasant surprises, including ‘Bird Mad Girl’ from the aforementioned Cure, a dash of the always-welcome Chameleons and even a Chris Connelly track.

The reconstituted Public Image Ltd. this morning announced three more U.S. concerts — April 28 in Pontiac, Mich.; April 30 Milwaukee, Wis.; and May 16 in Northampton, Mass. — on the band’s post-Coachella tour this spring.

John Lydon will take the reformed Public Image Ltd. on its first North American tour in 18 years this spring, today announcing a 16-date club tour to follow the band’s performance at the Coachella Valley Music & Arts Festival.

The reunited Faith No More is now set to make its American debut with a pair of hometown concerts at San Francisco’s historic Warfield Theatre in the days leading up to the band’s much-anticipated appearance at April’s Coachella Valley Music & Arts Festival.
