This week’s new releases include brand new studio albums from Prefab Sprout, Sonic Youth’s Lee Ranaldo with his new band The Dust, and Steve Nieve of Elvis Costello & The Attractions, plus reissues and best-of sets from The Stranglers, Madness, Pop Will Eat Itself and Propaganda.

Trevor Horn’s groundbreaking electro-pop label ZTT Records is commemorating a major milestone this fall with The Organization of Pop: Music From The First Thirty Years of ZTT Records, a new 2CD, 28-track compilation that collects tracks from Propaganda, Art of Noise, Frankie Goes to Hollywood, 808 State and more.

Andreas Thein — who co-founded Propaganda and co-wrote and performed on the German synthpop group’s debut single, 1984’s “Dr. Mabuse,” before being asked to leave the band — lost his battle with cancer and died this past Thursday, according to ZTT Records.

This week’s new releases include brand-new albums from Pet Shop Boys, David Byrne and St. Vincent and Tom Tom Club, plus reissues from The Stone Roses and Aztec Camera, a live CD/DVD of The English Beat’s US Festival performances, and best-ofs from Duran Duran and Propaganda.

This week’s new releases include the first new album in 27 years from Dexys Midnight Runners (now named Dexys), plus reissues from David Bowie (‘Ziggy Stardust’), Propaganda (‘Wishful Thinking’), Germs (‘GI’) and Bob Mould’s Sugar (‘Beaster’), as well as a new collection of Ministry remixes and covers.

Last week, Erasure frontman Andy Bell was just one of several guests to take the stage at a special retrospective concert in London staged by Propaganda singer Claudia Brücken in conjunction with the recent release of her new best-of ‘Combined.’

The expanded 2CD/1DVD reissue of Heaven 17’s synthpop classic ‘Penthouse and Pavement’ will pair the remastered 1981 album with 20 previously unreleased ‘demos, instrumentals and experimentation’ from that era, plus a DVD featuring the hour-long documentary ‘The Story of Penthouse and Pavement.’
