The musical project that The Cure’s Lol Tolhurst and Budgie of Siouxsie and the Banshees and The Creatures first announced in 2020 is finally seeing the light of day.

Cherry Red Records this summer will release the latest in its series of box sets commemorating extremely specific U.K. musical subgenres with “Come Together.”

England’s Glastonbury festival will return this summer with sets by The Jesus and Mary Chain, Pet Shop Boys, The Waterboys, Crowded House, Primal Scream and more.

Denise Johnson, the Manchester-born singer whose soulful voice lifted the music of Primal Scream — most memorably on Screamadelica — A Certain Ratio, New Order and more has died at the age of 56, according to U.K. press reports and musicians she’d worked with. No cause of death has been announced.

Two key drummers of the early post-punk era — The Cure’s Lol Tolhurst and Budgie of Siouxsie and the Banshees and The Creatures — have formed a new band called LXB that could release its already-recorded debut album before the end of this year, the two announced during an interview on Sirius XM’s Volume.

Andrew Weatherall, the famed British DJ, musician, remixer and producer who helped Primal Scream craft its genre-flipping early masterpiece Screamadelica, died in a London hospital Monday after suffering a pulmonary embolism, according to his publicists. He was 56. Full details right here.
