Former Bauhaus frontman Peter Murphy today announced he’s being forced to postpone his 15-night residency at The Chapel in San Francisco until 2018 after nodules were discovered on his vocal cords that will necessitate treatment and an extended period of recovery.

We’re happy to announce today that we’ve got a pair of tickets to the first night of that residency to award to a lucky Slicing Up Eyeballs reader. The winner will receive two (2) tickets to see Murphy perform his 1986 solo debut Should the World Fail to Fall Apart at The Chapel in San Francisco on June 20.

Daniel Ash and Kevin Haskins have confirmed the first tour dates for their highly anticipated new project Poptone, which will perform the music of the bandmates’ prior acts Bauhaus, Tones on Tail and Love and Rockets at nine concerts in five states in the western U.S. Tickets to the new shows go on sale Friday.

This week’s new releases include a 6-disc Kitchens of Distinction box set, a new live album from Bauhaus frontman Peter Murphy, a Marc Amond/Soft Cell best-of, a remixed edition of Soundgarden’s debut album ‘Ultramega OK,’ and a new solo album from Bad Religion frontman Greg Graffin.

Daniel Ash and Kevin Haskins — who spent large swaths of the ’80s and ’90s performing together in the seminal acts Bauhaus, Tones on Tail and Love and Rockets — are reuniting to form a new band called Poptone with Haskins’ daughter Diva that will perform the music of those three classic acts this summer.
