Peter Murphy avoided jail time last week when he pleaded guilty to meth possession and no contest to hit-and-run driving in connection with a Southern California car crash, for which he was sentenced to three years of probation and ordered to attend 45 days of Narcotics Anonymous meetings.

That 25th anniversary edition of Peter Murphy’s sophomore album isn’t the only Bauhaus-related title on Cherry Red Records’ November release calendar: The U.K. label also is planning a 3CD box set of Daniel Ash solo material as well as an expanded 2CD reissue of David J’s solo debut Etiquette of Violence.

Cherry Red Records next month will mark the 25th anniversary of Peter Murphy’s second solo album — 1988’s Love Hysteria, featuring the classic single “Indigo Eyes” — with an expanded 2CD reissue that will pair the remastered nine-track album with 13 home demos, B-sides and single edits and remixes.

Up to 40 Peter Murphy fans will get the first crack at hearing the former Bauhaus frontman’s forthcoming album Lion next month when the singer hosts a private listening party “at a secret location in the Los Angeles area,” with the promise of “an unprecedented discussion between artist and audience.”

After taking his Mr. Moonlight Tour across the United States, Europe and even to South America this summer, Peter Murphy will bring the show — which celebrates the 35th anniversary of Bauhaus with a set comprised only of that band’s material or songs the group covered — back to California this October for five more concerts.

Peter Murphy’s been on the road since April with his “Mr. Moonlight Tour,” and when it came time to wrap it up Wednesday night in Sao Paulo, Brazil, the former Bauhaus leader had a treat for fans: He was joined by The Mission’s Wayne Hussey to perform T. Rex’s “Telegram Sam” and David Bowie’s “Ziggy Stardust.”

Peter Murphy may be out on the road celebrating 35 years of Bauhaus with sets filled entirely by music performed by his old band, but he’s looking forward as well as he works on the follow-up to his 2011 album Ninth, a new record called Lion that’s being produced by Youth and is expected to arrive sometime in early 2014.
