Now that we’ve revealed the results of our latest Slicing Up Eyeballs readers poll — one that ranks all 157 songs recorded by New Order — it’s only natural we’d throw together a Spotify playlist of the ranked countdown. Well, minus the 46 songs (largely B-sides and other non-album obscurities) that aren’t on the streaming service.

We’re back with the fifth installment of our ongoing readers poll series, bowing to popular demand that we ask you, the readers of Slicing Up Eyeballs, to help us rank every song released by New Order over the pioneering electronic-rock group’s 37-year lifespan. You may vote for up to 25 of your favorite songs.

New Order today announced that it has reached a “full and final settlement” to end the band’s long-running legal disputes with its former bassist Peter Hook over the ongoing royalties Hook has received since 2011 and his own use of “various New Order and Joy Division assets.” Read New Order’s full statement.

The 1983 concert, New Order’s first in Chicago, is the stuff of legend, with a packed crowd driving the on-stage temperature to nearly unbearable heights, knocking out power on-stage mid-set.

Peter Hook & The Light this week announced a 28-date North American tour for the spring of 2018, a trek that once again will see the band performing Joy Division’s and New Order’s classic Substance compilation albums in their entireties each night. See full dates here.

New Order tonight played the fourth of its five planned sets at the Manchester International Festival, performances that have found the band digging deep into its back catalog as it expands its arrangements with the aid of a 12-person synth orchestra.
