Bernard Sumner and a pair of his New Order bandmates — specifically the two who weren’t also in Joy Division — performed at Carnegie Hall as part of the Tibet House U.S. Benefit Concert, where they were joined onstage by Iggy Pop to perform Joy Division’s “Transmission” and “Love Will Tear Us Apart.”

Former Joy Division and New Order bassist Peter Hook has yet to debut his new show featuring full front-to-back performances of the latter group’s third and fourth albums — 1985’s Low-Life and 1986’s Brotherhood — but he’s already announcing plans to bring it to North America for a 14-date tour this November.

Peter Hook’s current U.S. tour — on which he’s performing New Order’s first two albums each night — may be just about over, but fans at Wednesday night’s show in Seattle got a special treat: electronic music whiz Moby hopped on stage during the encore to sing three Joy Division classics.

As advertised, Peter Hook was featured on Thursday night’s episode of “Late Night with Jimmy Fallon,” where he sat in with The Roots, playing Joy Division and New Order classics — with Captain Kirk Douglas handling vocals — as the show went to and from commercial.

What appears to be a treasure trove of aging tapes recorded by legendary postpunk producer Martin Hannett — including material by Joy Division, New Order, The Psychedelic Furs and Magazine — have been “rescued” from a garbage bin and are now being put up for sale by Hannett’s former personal assistant.
